We only went for lunch (on this occasion) and this newly renovated hotel was the ideal location in Mallaig. Perched on a hill the dinning room had amazing views. Our request for a window seat was granted and the food was faultless and clearly, very fresh and local. The staff were lovely and accommodating. This beautifully decorated hotel has encouraged...

Travelled by train on the scenic West Highland Line - beautiful journey. Thoroughly enjoyed lovely afternoon tea in The West Highland Hotel. Friendly, attentive staff. Lovely sandwiches with varied fillings, large warm scones with cream, jams, lemon curd. Beautiful selection of homemade cakes, served the restaurant with Stunning view over to the islands. My Father (86) was booked in here for one night last November prior to catching the train to Glasgow. He was looked after very well - taxis organised for him to take him to the station. Well actually onto the platform!! Only downside is the lack of a lift.Other than that he had a good evening meal, a comfortable room...

Were supposed to arrive by ferry from Skye but the weather played its part and all ferries were cancelled. Fortunately we had been advised by text so no major changes. Meant we had to drive in and out on the same route. Arrived at the hotel in a howling gale and checked in for 2 nights. Room was at the...

I arrived at the hotel after 8pm, unannounced and without reservation. The staff, displaying a great smile and a heartwarming welcome, immediately found me a great room at a very reasonable price, offered me information about the lovely village, were happy to answer my never-ending questions and made me feel extremely welcome. The room was spotlessly clean, very cosy and...

Stayed one night room only - no meals. Very friendly welcome and pleased to be offered a family room for just the two of us. Great view across to Skye, Rhum and Eigg in glorious autumn sunshine. Disappointed though not to have wifi in the room - only in the comfortable lounge. I think many people see wifi as an...

We stayed at the hotel for the inaugural gathering of 'A write Highland Hoolie'. We were really impressed with the warm welcome we got and the friendly smiley staff. The food was excellent. We were told they were in the process of upgrading the rooms but were quite happy with our room at the back of the hotel which gave...

I was speaking to a group of Coastguards at the Hotel and was booked in overnight for evening meal and breakfast. The staff were very helpful when I arrived in mid afternoon and I was soon sorted out. They were pretty busy at the time but even offered me a cup of tea whilst I waited. The evening meal was...
