There were 4 of us, with a week's luggage, with nowhere to stay after the ferries to the islands were cancelled. Luckily Ashdale had had a cancellation and we were very grateful for that! A bit of a walk up the hill (though not far), comfortable beds and one room with a great sea view. The separate bathroom lovely and...

I have stayed here on a few occasions and both the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. One is en-suite and the other has it's own private bathroom next door with a lovely bath. Highly recommend the Mallaig kippers for breakfast. And free wi-fi

We arrived to a nice welcome but unfortunately, the accommodation was very different to the photos on the website. Our room was dark, lighting poor and surfaces hadn't been cleaned. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the pillows hard. The whole house was very dated and the breakfast arrangement seemed a little odd eaten in the owners' living room. There...

Room location amenities were very fine. We just did not feel comfortable that the breakfast was served late and slowly when we wanted to leave as early as possible to take the boat to Skye. We also found it expensive for what it offers. Really sorry but we would recommend someone to stay there if it is the only option.

I arrived on a wet and windy night, later than expected, following Storm Desmond and Ashdale's hosts Martin and Jenny could not have been more welcoming. They picked me up from the train station, and as I had said I was going to bring fish and chips up with me, to save going out again, a tray, plate and cutlery...

We spent two nights at the Ashdale, having arrived in Mallaig by train from Glasgow on the West Highland Line (highly recommended!). Jenny was a friendly and efficient hostess, and our room was delightful, with exceptional views across the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in booking again.

Adequate but not what we hoped for. Jenny was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was OK. Room was clean and tidy and bed remade and towels folded each day. Just lacked that je ne sais quoi. Next time we will stay elsewhere.
