We stayed here for a night after golfing and expected the average pub food but christ, they could have a michelin star - honestly worth a look in! The room was about 60 quid and was in a quaint cottage opposite the main pub. If it was £100 a night I'd maybe be able to pick nits but it was...

We were given a room within the small out buildings, we had stayed here about three years ago we were in the same room as before and nothing had been done to this room, as my husband is partially disabled we found this most uncomfortable. Curtains were hanging off in places (only needed a couple of hooks on them) no...

Stayed here for the rock n horsepower event. Great food, great hospitality. Enjoyed everything. We had chateaubriand it was gorgeous. Even breakfast was good. We will return excellent value. The rooms were more than adequate, had a good night's sleep.

We visited for lunch with Australian relatives and were very disappointed. Having been several times before, we thought it would be the ideal pub lunch for them. We ordered tempura prawns that came rubbery, not crispy at all. They were sent back and then arrived crispy but not really tempura batter, more cod batter from a fish and chip shop!...

What an awful place! Following a recommendation as a place to stay to attend a wedding, we booked 6 rooms for all the family. When we arrived and saw the rooms we were horrified. The carpets were torn and stained. The cups and kettle provided were unclean. Room 4 stank of damp and had mould on the walls. The toilets...

Went here for a Sunday meal. I haven't visited for a good 3 years. My last experience of going here was certainly a good one ~ we went on a bank holiday, it was packed and just great in general. This time, we decided to visit after being on a day out, we were starving! We got 3 starters, the...

Although we have eaten here many a time this is the first time I have written a review. This means either one of two things as they often say that word of mouth is created either due to a fantastic unbeatable experience or a bad one. I am sorry to say that in this case mine is the later. Not...

I've been here many times over the years. My mum is a huge fan of the place and used to bring me here for lunch a few times when I was a child. Came back on mothers day to treat her which of course, she was thrilled about. Had a really enjoyable lunch! The sandwiches were brilliant! Can't remember what...

A lot depends on what you are looking for when it comes to a pub. We were meeting friends with kids and this is a kid friendly pub, service was good staff were polite and accommodating and the food wasn't bad. Colouring pencils etc were supplied for the kids and all in all it was a good experience and a...

I arrived stressed after a long 200 mile traffic congested journey to a warm welcome. The bar was well stocked and I sampled a few beers and then decided to eat there. Well, I opted for a fillet steak which was the very best I have had, rare, cooked to perfection, and I have to say that it was the...
