First time to Leyburn and called in at The Golden Lion. Landlady was extremely friendly. Decided to have a Sunday lunch and was fantastic value for money. £7.50 for large and £6.00 for medium. Beautiful home made Yorkshire puddings. Will definitley try again.

A warm welcome from friendly staff and management, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfasts were great, nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely dinner in the bar on one evening and there was an excellent selection. There is a lift for the use of the more elderly guests and plenty of free parking outside the door, provided... We planned a cycle trip around North Yorkshire and booked two rooms here. The staff were very helpful and explained about the meals available (i'm a vegetarian) and the arrangements for bikes. We confirmed the booking nearer the date and were told that one of our two single rooms had been upgraded at no extra cost to a double room,... More

On entering the bar area there was no-one around or behind the bar to greet or serve us. Then a smartly dressed man appeared and assured us that someone would be wih us soon, I... More

We were desperate for 2 rooms for a wedding that we were going to after being let down by another hotel at the last minute. My husband rang the Golden Lion and was told no problem we can accommodate you. We arrived at 8.40pm, 10 mins after the chef stops cooking but were fed much to our relief as we... More

I was grateful for a place to stay whilst cycling the Tour de France cycle route in heavy rain. The owners found me a room and hospitality was great. The full English breakfast was a delight with as much coffee or tea that you wanted. Local produce was used and the overall value excellent. Great location in front of the... More
