Stayed here for a week in May. We had booked a different cottage but, on arrival, found it might be a slightly awkward layout for my wife who has difficulty in walking and standing for long. We were immediately offered a different cottage (Couch) which was much better suited. Carol and the other people were so helpful and obliging it... More

The cottage was lovely - perfect for a couple and two dogs. Everything you could want - comfortable and cosy: the location is very quiet and the whole holiday was delightfully relaxing. The little courtyard outside has railings and a gate so the dogs were safe to potter around without disturbing anyone else. Contrary to other reviews, we did not... More

We stayed at form cottage recently. Great setting, nicely furnished cottage. When we arrived their was some milk, tea and biscuits waiting for us, a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and a great bath/shower. The only thing we would change was the two individual chairs, which we would have preferred a 2 seater sofa.... More

We stayed in Couch cottage for 3 nights in May. We were welcomed by Carol who made us feel at home. Spotless comfortable cottage with all you need to self cater. We had our 2 dogs with us and so enjoyed some lovely walks in this beautiful part of our country. Helmsley is the nearest town with any shops/eating places... More

We were advised the cottage would take a wheelchair. However, it has a step to get in, and it must be a very small wheelchair or someone that can walk a little because as soon as you are through the door there is a brick wall with only a little turning circle due to washing machine taking up some of... I stayed in Formicary for 3 nights recently. It was immaculately clean and perfectly adequate but felt a little tired and impersonal. The basics were all there but that was it. Many places now go the extra mile but not here. It is in a beautiful area of Yorkshire, but unfortunately the building layout means you can't appreciate this from... More

My friend and I spent 5 nights earlier this month in Couch Cottage. We arrived late about 6 pm and the owner wasn't present, but a young man showed us to the cottage. As soon as the door was opened you could smell a damp and musty smell. The internal bathroom was terribly smelly and the toilet only flushed occasionally.... More

Excellent Holiday cottage. Warm, spacious, has all the requirements you need to either snuggle down in a blizzard or venture out into the beautiful countryside. Lovely kitchen, one that cooks who like to experiment can enjoy and make the most of local food. Beds very comfortable, all ensuite & downstairs bedroom/shower room perfect for my elderly parents. Our dogs were... More

Our party stayed in the Holt and Drey Cottages, both double up for 10 people. Both cottages are well equipped and have everything you could possibly need. Both are very warm and cosy and very much home from home. Our 4th year and certainly won't be our last. The surrounding area is breathtaking and ideal base for touring the North... More
