Nido Del Aguila garners mixed reviews, with the hotel's service receiving both accolades for friendliness and criticism for a lack of professionalism. It is appreciated for its convenient location near the Europa centre, though a trek from the beach is noted by some. While the pools and sunbeds contribute to a relaxing atmosphere, guests have called out the dated decor and occasional loud music. Room opinions vary, with some acknowledging comfort and equipment, despite reports of datedness and cleanliness issues. The value proposition is contentious, with disparities in views on affordability and food pricing.

The location is spot on!!! Cant ask to be in a better spot, close to Europa Centre so its great for staggering home plus only a walk or short cab ride to Amadores Beach & Puerto Rico Centre.Reception is very friendly and helpful, even let us into our room early.
Room is very basic but clean and the cleaner arrives everyday, hairdryer in the bathroom.no aircon but fans are available to hire. Wifi is also available to purchase but very expensive so i used my data.
Food & Drink - there was a daily all inclusive offer which we tried on our last day, was lovely but the entertainment is very very poor so i wouldnt want to spend my evenings around the bar. A drag queen hosting a karaoke night with bad equipment,he couldnt sing and was using online/utube karaoke..if it worked, was entertaining at first but then too cringy to watch and he was too pushy to get people up.
I did have an amazing massage during my visit around the pool, the best iv ever had and they gave me a great deal. See pics of the couple.
Overall i would definitely be back!!!!

Dear pinkgin69, it's a pleasure to know you'll back. As you wrotte Nido del Águila is very well situated. Next to the shopping centre and around 15 minutes (walking) from the beach, and always is a quiet ambient. We hope to see you soon and we hope that time we could get the 5 score ;) Regards. We have been visiting Gran Canaria for 22 years now and this is the first time we have stayed at the Nido despite considering on numerous occasions. It is a nice complex as most are in Gran Canaria, the rooms were standard fare reasonable size and comfortable. We went self catering as we always do but did see the food served and was fairly typical of all inclusive neither good nor bad but ok for families on a budget. The staff were very helpful and attended a couple of problems we encountered all in good time and to our satisfaction. We have stayed at the Eden next door a couple of times and it is a slightly better complex but that is at a price we have found in the past. The location is great as you only have to walk through a passage and you are at the Europa centre with various eateries and shops and a taxi rank to take you down to main shopping in Puerto Rico Overall this was a very nice stay and we would stay here again.

Just came back from a 4 day stay at this hotel.
I would say it’s a great hotel for self catering the rooms have everything you need to make your own meals.
Only downside about the rooms is that there is no air conditioning there is 1 standing fan however we found is we opened the front door throughout the day when we were inside there was a general breeze.
We didn’t buy any food/ drinks in the hotel at all as we didn’t need to there’s a shop in the next hotel along (Eden) however a 8min walk you get to the Europa center where there’s a large supermarket that has everything you need along with several restaurants all reasonably priced.
You can walk to the beach but it is a long walk down the hill however if you’re hop in a taxi which the hotel can ring for it takes about five minutes and is about 3 to €5. Can’t fault the location at all if you want to go more centre to the Bullard shopping centre again a short taxi ride nothing more than €5 can get you there.
The hotel has two pools which I didn’t realise at time of booking the hotel. People do tend to leave towels on sunbeds throughout the night which isn’t the best but always manage to find sunbeds no matter what time of day.
Overall I would recommend this hotel if going south catering it is in a good location and the hotel is nice and clean can’t fault apart from no air-conditioning.

The only 2 positive aspect of this hotel is the cleanliness of the rooms and the service and friendliness of the staff they always serve with a smile and are happy to help at any time (bar one miserable Jobsworth barman who wouldn’t let me fill up a bottle of water when my other half was very unwell and was very rude and disrespectful to all the guests). I would give the food a 1 star rating, it is flavourless and quiet frankly inedible. Me and my other half got all inclusive but ended up eating out 6 out of the 7 nights of our stay. The pool is extremely dirty and is not cleaned thoroughly enough as it was even filthy first thing in the morning! They had 2 nights of entertainment which lasted no longer 30 minutes, the atmosphere at night is like a morgue so would potentially be appropriate for parents with young children or elderly couples. We booked a double room but we received 2 single beds pushed together which kept moving apart so I fell in between the middle of the beds on multiple occasions 🤕. I would not recommend this hotel to any friends or family and will definitely not be staying here again. On the other hand we did have a brilliant holiday so we will definitely be returning to Gran Canaria!!

I just wanted to warn people about this accommodation complex and the food there. If you're thinking about going there all inclusive, please don't and save your money!
I went for 2 weeks with family all inclusive. The apartment doesn't have air conditioning, you have to pay for fans, so due to the heat I had around 2 or 3 hours sleep per night.
The bathroom drains in my apartment were blocked so every time one of us had a shower it would flood and the bathroom became full of water, even sewage coming up from the silver drain in the floor.
The towel situation was ridiculous, they don't have any cleaners on Sundays, so those days you can't get clean towels. Also there were another 3 days where we didn't get clean towels, I ended up throwing the dirty ones outside of the apartment so the cleaners could see we needed clean ones and I also had an argument with the cleaners and maintenance guy when trying to get some clean ones from their trollies.
The food was disgusting, it went from very basic to totally inedible. The meat was so dry my grandmother couldn't chew or swallow it and she choked on it. It was the same type of food every day. The breakfast starts from 8.30 am, when they turn off the free soda pop drinks and you have to suffer with watered down cheap juice from a machine. The coffee machine was ridiculous and it was bitter cheap coffee. I got told off for going and having a coffee at 8.15am. The free drinks stop at 10.30pm and I was refused service when I was 2 minutes late.
My grandmother is disabled but everything was steps, no ramps, so she couldn't climb the steps everyday and I was refused being able to take her any food down to her apartment, so most days we had to go out for food, so it was all a waste of money.
They only provide 1 key to the apartment so you have to stay with whoever you're sharing with. On a night the reception is closed to anyone that is outside for the apartment complex and the main gate is locked with a padlock so anyone that stays out past a certain time couldn't even get back in to the complex and no one can get out, it was like a prison camp.
You also have to pay a 50 Euros deposit on arrival for every room, when you come to leave they check your room so you can get that money back. When we left they made the private transfer wait while doing it within the last 10 minutes which almost made us late to get to the airport on time.
We also saw some cockroaches in the cafe part and in the kitchen of the apartment.
They weren't very helpful when tying to hire a wheelchair for my grandmother and I had to demand the 50 Euros deposit back from the reception for the wheelchair when we left.
So the accommodation ruined our holiday experience and I would never go back to this place, it needs an overhaul and new management.

Just back from a two week all inclusive holiday with my wife and two children. Reading the reviews we were anxious but honestly had a fantastic time. The food was great and after planning to eat out lots due to the reviews we only eat out twice in two weeks. All of us were happy and there might not be loads of variety but enough to keep two fussy children happy. They particularly enjoyed the toasties at snack time. The AI drinks were great and the staff were brilliant throughout. Treat staff how you want to be treated and you won’t have any complaints. Rooms were cleaned daily and we really liked the apartment style set up as it means the children could go back and forth to the room whilst we were at the pool and we could see them easily. The pools varied in terms of noise and we preferred the back pool as it’s where our room was located and was a bit quieter. The beach is approximately a 25 minute walk down and a £6 taxi journey back up. Euro Center on your door step for a change of scenery and entertainment. We did some great trips and particularly enjoyed the catamaran day trip. Commercial Center and Mogán mall are walkable and again a taxi back. The only thing this place lacked was entertainment but due to the size of Nido, it was more personable and we met some fantastic people and made our own entertainment. Definitely worth the price for a 3* hotel and would go back again. Everyone we met there said the same 👌🏻

I decided to write my review after seeing some negative reviews.
We stayed from 19th July 2022 for a week. Firstly the staff are lovely and friendly and work extremely hard, I don't think people give them the credit they deserve. We encountered some lovely people.
The apartments are a nice size, clean and very close to the pool. The towels are changed every other day along with bed sheets, bins and cleaning of the apartment.
I read people moaning about Cockroaches, I see one at 6am by the pool. None in our apartment and we left windows and doors open as it was very hot, you are supplied with one fan but can hire extra one for €2 a day if your family it's probably worth doing.
Its worth remembering it's a 3 star accommodation so don't expect 5 star quality you pay for what you get.
The food is OK it was very samey throughout our stay so we decided to eat out a few nights. I've included a picture of food serving times and rules of the complex.
The europa centre is a 5 min walk down an alleyway by the apartments, there you will find restaurants, shops and fun activities for the children. There is also a shop 2 mins from the apartment.
Puerto Rico is about 30 minute walk down the hill a taxi around €4 there is a big center of shops, restaurants and two Mc donalds.
Playa de Amadores beach is the closest beach it is gorgeous. Taxi costs around €4 there is also shops, restaurants along the beach. Showers inside cost €3 and to use toilets 60 cent. Sunbeds and umbrellas around €12 for 2 beds and a umbrella.
Taxis are very easy to get most locations have a taxis stop (like a bus stop) you sit and wait and one turns up.
We went to Puerto de Morgan for the Friday Market it cost €18 one way about 20 minute ride.
We did the dolphin boat trip that was €30 euros each and was out for around a hour and did see dolphins it was lovely.
Maspalomas dunes are also another nice trip the taxi cost around €27 one way but there are excursions and buses that go so depending on how you like to travel there, receptionist at the apartments can help you if you would like to do any trips.
My only real negative about my holiday was the lack of entertainment in the evening. We had a drag queen and karaoke night all where finished by 10/10.30pm.
Something more for the kids would be good.
Floats are not aloud in the pool and would get taken by the life guard who us there on Saturdays.
To be honest the pool isn't big enough for floats.
Little children in the smaller pool could use floats.

I'm here now and I would put this hotel as a 3 star but the low end.
It's perfectly fine but it does need a bit of money spent on it as it does look a bit grubby in areas.
The apartments are clean and I'm always seeing cleaners sweeping and mopping. The beds are comfy and the kitchens are well equipped to cook if you want to. The pools are small with no lifeguard but do the job and there's never a problem to get a sunlounger but that might be because we aren't in Summer holidays yet. The pool cleaner is there every morning at 8am throughly cleaning the pool.
They only provide 1 fan in the apartment so if there is 4 of you one room can't have one unless you rent one off them. Luckily we have 2 little fans we have propped up on our bedside tables and that's fine as the rooms don't have Aircon and I imagine as July and August get going it will be even hotter.
The staff here don't seem to be the friendliest and the entertainment is a bit rubbish and they don't have enough tables and chairs.
We didn't go all inclusive and there are plenty of restaurants to eat in not even 5 mins from the apartments and a supermarket.
The beach is a downhill 20/25 min walk or a €5 taxi and sunbeds are €4 a day.
All in all a lovely holiday so far and as I say the apartments are fine if you aren't expecting posh.
Would I stay here again? Probably not but I'm not complaining.

Not impressed with the hotel, not very clean even after being cleaned by staff, the towels given were marked most of the time and an awful drainage smell everytime you walked into the room. We went all inclusive and the food was awful, not enough options, uncooked chicken, hairs in food, cockroach found in the toaster, staff were made aware of this and did nothing about it. Drinks are okay however the cocktails are definitely watered down. This meant we had to spend a lot more money on food outside the hotel. The pool is unsafe, something sharp on the side of the pool which a little girl caught her foot on, the staff were made aware of this and they didn’t fix the area nor did they help the little girl, didn’t even give her a plaster. No floats allowed in the pool either which is very unusual for a hotel, pool also needs a deep clean. Lifeguard scared all the kids around the pool and made them all leave and no longer want to go in the pool. Most of the staff are rude and no information is given on where things are located in the hotel. We will not be returning to this hotel again.

I honestly can’t believe the reviews for this hotel! We’ve just got back from a week all inclusive at Nido del aguila and it was fantastic! We travelled with our toddler and I honestly can’t fault it! The staff were amazing with her and couldn’t do more for us. The rooms were absolutely spotless and the maids came every other day to change the towels etc. I was really nervous about coming after seeing the reviews but I didn’t need to be as it’s a lovely little hotel. I’m not sure what people expect for the price you pay and for a 3 star hotel, but I suggest they don’t next time if all they are going to do is moan, it’s no different to any other place I’ve stayed. In fact I would say it’s one of the best. There were toiletries in the bathroom, a hair dryer and we had a small kitchenette. We also had a fan provided in the room which is a bonus with not having air con. Lots of bad reviews on the food, but we always found something to eat and never went hungry and even though it was limited and repetitive, what was there was delicious. Breakfast was really good, loads of choice! Entertainment was every other day hosted by a drag act called Miss Kimba which was a laugh to be fair but if that’s not your thing then the Europa Centre is a 2 minute walk from the hotel with loads of restaurants, bars and entertainment. Maybe if you had older kids there wasn’t a lot going on as it’s a very small quiet hotel which we actually preferred having a young child but like I said there’s lots to do nearby. As for the reviews of not being allowed inflatables in the pool, that was never a problem we had balls and lilos and nothing was said at all! The 2 pools were clean and a nice size and we could always find a sun bed. I spoke to a couple of people who have been coming back year after year for 20+ years so that says it all really! At the end of the day it’s what you make it and we honestly absolutely loved it! Please don’t be put off by reviews we had the best time!
