Karen does everything possible to make a guest feel coddled in a 4 star hotel way, though she only lets out two lovely rooms. Filtered water by each bedside table, herself ready to greet you, clear directions provided & truly the loveliest & most elegant breakfast we had in Ireland, with her home-made rhubarb compote, full breakfast Irish & more. Few stays were sweeter!

It has been a privilege for us to get to know the hostess of Brambledown B&B, her husband and her daughters. Karen invites her guests in the beautiful kitchen (of her own design), and cooks a personalised, delicious and healthy breakfast, with home-made bread, fresh fruit, organic yoghurt,.... Her enthousiasm and warmheartedness are unparalleled. There are only two guestrooms and they deserve to be occupied every night, with visitors who can appreciate and respond to real kindness. Karen, if you come to read this, thumbs up for all your efforts and we send you all our gratitude and energy tot you and to your family! You deserve an AA cum laude!

The Brambledown was cozy and very clean. Our host had great tips on places to eat and things to do to fill an evening on Valentina Island, and the Irish Breakfast in the morning was excellent. I would highly recommend if your traveling to the Skelligs.

A warm welcome awaits you at this delightful B&B on Valentia Island. Karen is a charming and helpful hostess; both comfortable rooms have ensuite bathrooms; and the breakfasts are fresh, healthy and delicious. The house is only 10 years old, so has all mod-cons, but is built in a traditional style that blends with the character of the island. And it's in a great location, convenient for Portmagee, Knightstown, and all the attractions of Valentia and the Skelligs.

Five star experience in cute little family house. This is must stay place due to its exceptional breakfast and owners hospitality.

Karen made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond with her breakfast. Homemade breads (we almost finished the entire raisin bread loaf), cereal, fruit salad, eggs, etc.

Choose Brambledown B&B the next time you are in the area!

The room was perfect for me and my wife. We spent part of our honeymoon here and were so warmly welcomed by our host! She was so helpful in suggesting nearby things to do, all while hand kneading fresh bread for the next morning breakfast. Amazing.

The house is beautifully clean and modern. The guest rooms are bright and fresh, thoughtfully appointed with great attention to detail and comfort. There is a lovely guest sitting area upstairs with a wonderful view from the deck. Our hosts were more than friendly and accommodating. Karens breakfasts are superb, featuring her own homemade breads, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, plus she offers every option for a cooked breakfast. Brambledown is one of those special places you want to return to. Also, it is only a few minutes drive to the boat dock if you are taking the outing to the Skellig islands, and nearby Knightstown offers at least 3 good eating establishments and is quieter than Portmagee.

Brambledown is a beautiful modern B&B run by a very friendly and helpful couple. Our stay couldn't have been more comfortable. The room was bright, clean and comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was superb with a selection of homemade breads, fresh fruits and a fry! The owners were highly accommodating, they recommended a fantastic restaurant for us and suggested sites for us to visit on the island. They did their upmost to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and comfortable! A pleasure to visit.
