Simple room accessed via a narrow passageway, key pickup via Dropbox, room is upstairs. Having read the reviews I was expecting a smaller room; this was more than adequate for a night and sufficient room to bring reasonable sized suitcases in.

Bathroom was small but sufficient.

Chose this place for its location to the pontoon for Skelligs trip and it was perfect. Would recommend.

Such a cozy, quaint and clean property. Booking was easy, the hosts had fantastic communication and the location was great!

Prior to arriving, I received a message informing me that if I was going to be a late arrival, what I needed to do and where the key box was. I really liked this as it gave me time to finish my adventures for the day without having to worry about rushing to check in.

The main areas and the room were very clean and cozy. I had a view in the back which was beautiful - it overlooked the green landscape and the beautiful mountains. I had a great sleep and waking up to the view was a great start to the day. Good shower as well which is always important.

Check out was quick and easy. I didn’t have a chance to see the hosts but I simply left the key in the lock box and that was it!

Thanks for a lovely stay - when I’m back in the area I will look for a room at the Ferry Boat.

Price point did not match the experience of this B&B. The room of a hotel or b&b generally is not the most important part of a trip as I’m likely to spend the least time in it, but the room my family and I were provided with was incredibly small and uncomfortable. My family and I were basically on top of one another. The toilet was borderline a claustrophobic experience. A lower price point would be much more suitable for the standard of this place. Perhaps it is best suited for someone traveling solo.

The room was very small. Just prior to our arrival in Portmagee we received an email saying that we should pack a small bag for our stay since the rooms were too small for suitcases. They were not kidding. The location is great, especially since we were taking a Skellig Michael tour from the pier.

This is a tough one becasue Judy the owner is so lovely and the breakfast with home made soda breadwas terrific. But to be honest the room left a lot to be desired. It was very very small. The door had been removed from the wardrobe, there were two chairs up against the wall - not sure why they were there given how small the room was and the shower room needed houdini manouveres. It really needed a bit of a simple make over. But there were tea making facilities with pretty china cups. Would I stay there again? Probably not but I'd definitely pop in to say hi to Judy.

We just completed an 18 day car tour of Ireland with stays in more than 10 B+B's. We stayed 1 night with Mike + Judy at The Ferry Boat --very comfortable with a great breakfast and terrific conversation. Well located on the (tiny) main street within 50 meters of the towns 2 pubs. Many people will shuttle bus to Portmagee from Killarney to take the Skelling Michael trip and miss the charm of staying in this small village and exploring the area including Valencia Island. Loved this place --it will lower your blood pressure.

We stayed here for two nights on our trip around Ireland. Mike and Judy are very nice hosts and know all their guests by name.

We had a room overlooking the garden. The room and bathroom were on the small side, but they were cosy, clean and quiet. The shower was great with a lot of water pressure. The WLAN worked very well. We got a free parking space right outside the B&B and we both enjoyed the Irish breakfast in the dining room.

Portmagee is a small village so everything is really close by – the pub, restaurant, supermarket and souvenir shop, bar, the boats to Skellig Michael and the bridge to Victoria Island.

Mike and Judy also organised the boat trip to Skellig Michael for us. We booked it with them via e-mail about two months before our trip. It was raining in the morning on the day of our boat trip and Mike checked for us, whether the boats would go and told us where to go for our boat. Though it’s a very wet and wild boat ride, I’d really recommend visiting the island, it’s an amazing experience and we saw lots of puffins!

They do not accept cards and if you arrive after 6pm, you need to call them and let them know - we called them and everything was fine.

I’d definitely recommend this guesthouse because of the great hosts and the central location.

Stayed for one night as I'd booked to go to Skellig Michael the next day. Guest house in the Main Street which runs along the harbour front further along. Our room had views across the back garden, up the hill and was very quiet. We had a tiny private en suite toilet and shower, the room small but comfortable. The house felt like home.
Breakfast was full Irish! Mike and Judy were fine hosts. Would come back.

Excellent location! Great breakfast! Loved this little town. The Skellig Michal tour was definitely expensive(60E) ,and our captain did not take us around the entire island (maybe ensure that happens before you board) .. but otherwise it was worth the tour.
