We are here at the moment. Room 217. Sea views and spa bath. Lovely welcome by Dimitri on reception, who gave us all the information we needed and then showed us to our gorgeous room. Rose petals on our bed with welcome fizz and gorgeous pastries in our room. We have eaten dinner twice already at the on site restaurant, food delicious and staff are just amazing. There is a sign saying stairway to heaven leading up to the pool, and that really does sum up the pool area. Beautiful beds, no need to be up at the crack of dawn to reserve one! We came here for some very much needed R&R and are having just that . 100% recommended this beautiful piece of paradise and it’s somewhere I know we will return to. Thank you to everyone at Happy Cretan Suites❤️
Wonderfull stay at Happy Cretan suites, beautiful settings, beautiful view from the room and surroundings, excellent beds and suites, very pleasant staff, great breakfast , great dinner, great music and great drinks at the poolside. We will definitely recommend this as a perfect getaway for couples ❤️❤️
Had the stone house with hot tub and sea view (235) excellent accommodation kept very clean. Restaurant food was great too with all staff on the site very professional, welcome at reception warm , friendly and genuine as most Cretans we’ve ever met always seem to be.Would definitely go back again, handy for Airport too about 20 mins ( € 40 Taxi booked from reception ) On an elevated site with great views to sea, gardens immaculate. Ongoing work as hotel is doubling in size below but not noisy or intrusive to your holiday. Due to be finished by next summer. Would still go again now with that going on but definitely go back as soon as possible.
It was great hotel with tasty food. Nice view, and warm jacuzzi. Staff are very friendly and hospitable. Green and beautiful territory Also you should try their massage, it is not relax but really good
After reading lots of overwhelmingly positive reviews for this place, I made a booking here to treat ourselves for the last two nights of our holiday. There were some positives to our stay - the rooms are lovely, with very comfy beds and great views towards Agia Pelagia and the sea from the balcony. However, there were many things about our stay which were hugely disappointing and didn't meet our expectations at all. Many previous reviews highlight the welcoming nature of the staff - unfortunately this was not our experience at all. As an example, at no single point in our stay did the owner ask us if we were enjoying or had enjoyed our stay, or whether we'd enjoyed our meal in the restaurant - not even when we checked out. As such, there was no opportunity to pass on any of the feedback that I have noted here. This place describes itself as a luxury hotel, however there are lots of things which are not done particularly well or small attention to details which are lacking. As one example, when we turned up for breakfast on our first morning, there was no one there to greet you or explain how things worked. Someone came over and asked if we wanted an omelette and we said yes - then she just looked at us and waited for more information, without first providing any options about fillings etc (as if we were simply supposed to know what the kitchen had!). When the omelettes arrived they were put down in front of us and the waitress walked off, not checking that we had any cutlery or napkins (we didn't - the tables aren't set for breakfast when you arrive) etc. The omelettes were incredibly salty. The buffet part of the breakfast was no better. The hot food selection was limited: a plate of fried or scrambled eggs and a plate of some sort of sausage or bacon - neither looked appetising at all. Also only a small amount is put out and it gets taken very quickly, with a long wait until it is replenished. Similarly the juice bottles do not get refilled and there aren't always plates to serve your food onto. The fresh fruit selection was also very poor - one morning it was simply a plate of old grapes. One morning the coffee machine was broken and there was no offer of any other coffees. Overall, the breakfast - food and experience - was very poor, and certainly not what you would expect from a 'luxury' hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and I would strongly recommend against eating here. The food is highly overpriced (15 euros for a main) and is of very poor quality. The pork souvlaki was mainly fatty meat and the pasticcio was salty and had very little flavour. It is worth being aware that you will need to walk at least 15 mins on a main road or get a taxi down to the town to go somewhere else to eat. Other small details - there are lovely toiletries in the bathroom, but the bottles were half empty, as if a previous guest had used some and they'd been left for the next guest rather than being replaced. The rainhead shower looks great, but the pressure isn't good, and the way the shower is designed means that you will get the whole bathroom floor wet every time you use it. The towels are very small and the bathrobes are very old and worn. A few things that I was not keen on (as personal preference) and therefore I would have liked to have been aware of before booking: As the pool area is next to the bar, there is constantly music being played which can be heard while you're sitting by the pool. On one afternoon there was a live band (upbeat pop covers) by the pool. Again, I am sure that some people enjoyed this, but we found that it meant that the pool area wasn't as relaxing as it could be. Also, the fancy sunbeds aren't as good as the pictures make them look - some of them aren't very clean. The rooms are cleaned each day and it's quite an 'intrusive' clean - that is, they will move your things around to tidy everything up, so nothing will be where you left it. We also found a dirty cleaning rag in our suitcase after they'd cleaned which we didn't appreciate! The balcony area is nice, however there is no privacy - you will always be overlooked by other rooms or people walking past. Regarding the bikes for use - there are four mountain bikes, and they are very large. I am just over 5ft and would not have been able to use one. Overall, I'm so disappointed that we did not have the same experience as the majority of other guests seem to have had based on all the previous reviews. Perhaps we visited on a bad weekend, or because we were only there for 2 nights we weren't deemed as valuable or welcomed guests. Whatever the reason, unfortunately it means that I really would not recommend staying here.…
Very pleasant stay in Agia Pelagia ! Review of Happy Cretan Suites Pending review I spent 3 days with my family at Happy Cretan Suites as part of a rather itinerant stay in Crete. No negative remarks: the view is splendid, the place is very quiet, and the facilities are quite satisfactory (very nice swimming pool, small gym, possibility to have a massage). The rooms are spacious and impeccable and the restaurant is high standard. As often in Crete, we have no reason to complain about the hospitality of the staff. I highly recommend it!
After staying 8 days at Happy Cretan i have the following conclusions: - the location is superb. It consists in mini villas with a superb view to the cretan shore at Mediterranean, gingerly situated on the slope of the mountain. The rooms consist in a roomy sitting area, bathroom (ours had a tub), bedroom with a large bed and a superb terrace where to be honest i could stay for the entire week i paid and i would not be that sad. The view is really great. - The cleaning staff do a great job and they tend to leave little personal attentions that really brightens your day like: deserts , personal message about the weather, notes etc - The location has a roomy hot tub, pool with depth from 0.7 to 3 m and great sun beds that are cozy and secluded - They have a gym with boxing bag, running band, weights etc. you can also order massages. - They have lock boxes and minibar - The staff is really friendly and attentive with the customers(we really liked Dimitri from reception) - The breakfast is open bar and with large variety of sweet and salty food. - They have a lot of info about activities that you can do in Crete - we took two trips around the island to Chrissi Island and to Spinalonga Island. The buses took us from the hotel and the trips were great. Also they recommended a great location for snorkeling.…
We spend one week from 12th to 19th October 2020 in Happy Cretan Suites in Agia Pelagia. All the hotel, the fantastic sea view from all the bedroom and suites (we were in the stone suite), a very friendly staff and all the prevention against covid-19 were perfect by anyone working there. The restaurant is also really delicious, with different Cretan and Minoan cuisine... with an excellent cocktail bar in front of the swimming pool. We will comme back with a great pleasure! · We promised to return last year, so we did. I did not think that it is possible to make our stay better then last year, but the owner brought it to a new level. Again I have never received this level of service in any 5 star hotel. From the small deserts every day, to the small touches that absolutely blow every other accommodation out of the water, this is hands down one of the best places that you can stay in Crete! Breakfast is great, the pool is warm, the rooms are comfortable. I can only recommend this place, you have to experience it again! Thank you again Dimitris for the great stay!
The hotel is absolutely beautiful. We had a room with a garden view and it was lovely. The balcony was a great size and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool and area around the pool was beautiful. The food was delicious. Every meal we had was amazing. The best thing about the hotel was the service, everyone was so nice and friendly and always happy to help. As it is a small hotel you get to know all the staff which is lovely. Dimitris was also an absolute delight and so helpful. We were there during Covid times and the health and safety measures were fantastic. The staff were constantly cleaning and wearing face coverings the whole time. I’d go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. Amazing value for money.
