It is not a 4 star hotel. The building and the whole complex is very old. all the rooms smell of mold. Non-Functional air conditioner. very old tv. Food. although in abundance, always the same and not at all tasty. being at the seaside you expect to eat fish or seafood at least daily. You will not receive at all. many times the food left over from lunch was reserved for the evening, but not under ideal conditions. when I arrived at the complex, it doesn't look like the pictures on the net at all. we were not even accommodated there. they took us somewhere 200 meters away from the complex, in an extremely old and dirty apartment.
We stayed there for 7 nights. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The room was cleaned daily. The manager, Mr Fotis has a fabulous commitment in dealing with tourists and their different characters. Their chef cooks wonderfully! I strongly recommend!
Our stay in Alexander House was fantastic , the staff were extremely welcoming and always wanted to help us. The food was top notch and the view in the restaurant is great. We relaxed and enjoyed the sea , swimming pool and particularly the food. There are lots of steps but it is no problem if you are mobile. Obviously the hotel was quite empty due to COVID but the staff were still very welcoming. I can only recommend.
We stayed there for 7 nights. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The rooms were clean. The food sometimes was lukewarm but I think it was because they were serving you because of Covid and they were open the lids all the time to show you what was in there. They coped very well u see the circumstances of Covid. The pool went deep very quickly and no depth markings on the side. The beach was only a 3 minute walk away with a lot of restaurants to chose from. There are a few supermarkets there as well. Would definitely go back
Alexander House Hotel is a lovely little hotel. We stayed as a family of 5 adults for a week in August 2020. The staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you. Covid rules were followed, all staff wore masks & everything was cleaned regularly. Food In the restaurant due to covid you get seated at a table & then called up to the buffet where the staff serve you whatever you would like. Good selection of food - always something to eat - not always hot but not terrible - Greek salads were lovely! There is also a pizza bar by the pool that serves different pizzas every day from 10-6, as well as ice creams & drinks. Bar with a view of the sea open 6-11pm. All inclusive finishes as 11. Pool Pool was lovely & clean, & a good size - it is very deep! Loads of inflatables to use that people had left behind. The hotel say you can’t reserve sun-beds with towels but everyone does, but there were always sun-beds available & the staff will bring more of you ask. Rooms Rooms were basic but lovely, fridge, wardrobe, safe, TV etc (no English channels) Air con great. Cleaned every 3 days with changed sheets, towels etc. Location About 50 mins transfer from Heraklion airport. Masks are compulsory on public transport - not nowhere else as all employees wear them. Hotel is literally a 3 minute walk from the beach which has lots of restaurants, tour operators, shops, bakery’s along it. The beach is very thin & the cost of sun beds & an umbrella has been hiked up to €20 due to covid which is expensive! The beach does get thicker as you walk along it. It’s worth walking down for a swim & then back to the pool to relax afterwards. The sea is INCREDIBLE! So many fish swim right by you & the water is very clear, it’s a bit rocky so take beach shoes if you have them. Overall a great hotel & would stay again. …
Our holiday started badly at another resort nearby. We came across AHH purely by chance and booked the remaining 4 out of 6 days of our holiday. All the AHH staff were very friendly and accommodating; Soula (Receptionist) and Fortis (Restaurant Manager) were fantastic and other staff including; Captain, Elena, Irina and Danai (who ran the evening bar), were so friendly and welcoming they all made our holiday. Due to Covid, this hotel has carefully considered alternative ways to keep guests safe and comfortable and above all have an enjoyable stay and it was excellent. Food was brilliant, lots of choice. There is a full buffet service available (for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Guests are escorted to the buffet and served by the staff, which effectively means you sit down and eat together - almost a la carte! Freshly cooked Pizza is served all day and is delicious. Home made Ice cream is served all day along with your drinks as you would expect all inclusive. The room was spotless, comfortable and fully air conditioned. There was an excellent, newly refurbished bathroom, with walk-in shower and the room included a TV, fridge and had a sea view. This hotel have had to limit sunbeds around the pool to maintain distance between different guest parties, but you get used to it and everyone is respectful and understanding. The staff clear up this area every day and use the correct tools to clean down beds ready for the next day. I can't fault this hotel, they are fully prepared during Covid and keen to hear any feedback on how they might improve. They are just as keen to get it right, to encourage more visitors and I applaud that! Well done everyone at AHH and keep it going... hope to return and see you again soon.…
Loved the staff and hotel was a lot of abusive and rude Germans stay at the hotel felt very unwelcome by them would not stay again which is a shame was up graded to a vip room bathroom needs updating shower was cold/warm so times. Food good
Just returned from a wonderful break at this fantastic hotel. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this lovely hotel. The good was excellent with lots to choose from. I really cannot stress how friendly and welcoming all the staff were. My favourites Fortis in the restaurant and Dania at the pool bar thank you for all your help! See you soon 😎
Great facilities, close to the beach and the staff are fantastic. the food is very good, great quality and variety and plenty of it. the drinks are excellent and the place is spotless. The local town has some great shops and v v good restaurants. the sea is warm, plastic free and teaming with fish.
I booked 2 twin rooms for myself and 2 friends. We booked with Easyjet and the confirmation said twin rooms with balcony or terrace. I e mailed the hotel the week before to ask for 2 rooms near each other on a high floor if possible. I had a reply from Soula to say she would try to sort that for us but no guarantee. We arrived mid afternoon. One room was at the far end of the hotel in the renovated rooms. The room was quite modern with hairdryer and toiletry basket. It did however have just a small double bed. The other room was near to the pool in a basement room, no balcony or terrace and quite dark with a damp smell,no hairdryer or toiletries. I asked if there were any other rooms and was told that Soula would be back in the morning and we could see her then. The next morning Soula offered us a family room, one room with twin beds pushed together and the other with a single bed and couch. I think it was room 326, not renovated but quite nice, top floor overlooking the pool. Also with air con. The pool was lovely and refreshing with plenty of sunbeds and we were there in school holidays. There is a small toddler pool. The main pool is very deep, from 1.6 metres to 3 metres. The beach is a short walk and there are shops, bars and restaurants not too far away. You can also catch the bus to Heraklion just a short walk away; reception has a timetable. There is a €5 deposit for towels. We were all inclusive and always found something tasty to eat, quite a lot of choice. The all inclusive runs till 11pm and there are 3 cocktails on the free menu, plus beer, wine and soft drinks. The menu says coca cola but the diet coke was quite poor. We called it brown water! The other soft drinks and soda were fine. There are only small cups so you are better off bringing a travel mug with you. We had a nice relaxing 5 days here, all of the staff friendly and the pool, restaurant, rooms and towels all very clean.…
