Hotel is perfect. There is no one thing who was bad. Everything is perfect. More of this is the staff. From the cleaning ladies to the top of the management. Really polite and friendly staff. Food is amazing. Fresh, delicious and huge selection. Fantastic. Great praise for the chef and the team in the kitchen. I have to name the personnel with whom we were in daily friendly contact: Receptionist Eva Bar: Andreas and Alexis Breakfast restaurant: Maria and the team Greek Taverna: Mr. Mihalis and the team A la carte: Manoli, Stavros and STELIOS. Lunch restaurant: HARIS Special thanks for Haris and Stelios. And of course the cleaning ladys, porters and the rest of hotel team Thank you guys for unforgetable stay in your hotel. See you next year. Maja and Ivan, room 145
wonderful holidays. beautiful hotel, pleasant service, stunning views, delicious food. I am grateful for the work of the waiters who try to make the time pleasant, are smiling, very polite and deserve a higher salary for their hard work! :) warm greetings from me to the waiters from the ala carte restaurants;)
Despite being upgraded to a junior suite upon arrival, we found several long black hairs all over the bed, floor and even clumps of matted hair in the bathroom. The room itself was big with a great sea view but the curtains couldn’t be opened and closed easily without falling apart and the ridiculous number of switches meant that trying to turn the lights off and go to bed was more like an all night rave. The food was okay at best. A lot of it was cold and overcooked but one highlight was the freshly cooked pizza although there was no control or separation between meat and vegetarian and the serving spatulas were used for both. Note: vegetarian and vegan options were very limited. Even the basic breakfast options like fresh fruit were limited to cheap, tinned peaches etc (peaches were completely off one evening and were fizzy - disgusting). The food was mostly self serve and as a vegetarian, I needed to know what I was eating but the labels above each dish were rarely correct. If you like your coffee, don’t get excited. The only options were black or white coffee but it may as well have been black or white water. The dining areas and rest of the hotel were not very clean, tables were wiped down with a dirty rag with no sign of cleaning/disinfectant spray with the crumbs and leftover food scraps being swept on to your seat and floor. Many areas of the hotel were left with wet floors and no wet floor warning signs and were very slippery and dangerous (my partner slipped and hurt his knee near the bar and received no medical attention - even after reporting this to the receptionist). One of the best parts of our stay was finding the adult only “Relax Pool” area overlooking the sea and amazing landscape but our relaxation was often ruined by screaming and splashing children accompanied by rude parents. The lifeguard on duty did notice and said something to the French family but they were allowed to remain. This seemed to be a common theme with a bias towards French people and families (animation team only picking them for activities and being shown to freshly made tables at dinner as well as French being the main language spoken by the staff). The staff did seem to work exceptionally hard but the hotel seemed understaffed with poor training and a lack of concern over health and safety. As the hotel is built on a steep cliff, it provides shuttle services every 20 mins up and down between the hotel and beach but because these pedestrianised roads were full of hairpin turns, it was very unsafe walking up the road with big minivans hurtling around these blind corners at high speed. We were nearly hit and is just one of many areas that need serious attention. Pool steps were hanging off and made a horrible screeching sound when anyone used them. This place is a serious accident waiting to happen. Avoid. We politely mentioned all of this to the lady at reception (Sofia) who was very polite but unbelievably rushed and was multitasking between many guests at the desk and over the phone while we tried to speak to her. Unfortunately she did not offer anything when we raised these issues and asked me to speak to the restaurant manager about dietary requirements but this should have been asked of us when we checked in.…
Location of the hotel is super amazing! Service from hotel staff, especially Giorgos Moschogiannakis and Dimitra Rous.Thank you very much for your hospitality and your very kind service!Great persons and very talented. Definitely i will visit this hotel again in the future!
We stayed at the Athina Palace Hotel Complex recently , for seven nights It was our second visit in four years. We found everything about the hotel to be excellent. The two themed restaurants are of a high standard and the food served was both delicious and well presented. The all inclusive buffet selection provided varied and excellent choices. All staff we encountered were professional, pleasant and extremely helpful.Special mention for Maria and Dennis on the terrace and Theo at front of house. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week. Thanks to everyone at Athina Palace.
Went there in August with some friends. The holiday was the best ever but what made the vacation an extraordinary experience was definitely our server Maria Sopassi. She's the most precious, courteous, lovely and heartwarming person we've ever met. She remembered our names and all our little peculiarities. Would go there again, just to thank her for everything and to see her one more time!
I would like to start on a positive note saying that the staff were amazing. Very polite and helpful. The room was nothing like the picture. Very old and tacky looking. There wasn't slippers or robes either. The phone in the room wasn't working so we had to walk up a massive hill 15-20 min everytime we needed to go reception as the mini van did not come every 10 min how it should. We tried to upgrade the room as it was very far away from reception but again it wasn't possible. When we arrived around 10 pm they just gave us 2 extremely poor sandwiches. A slice of ham and one of cheese wrapped up in clingfilm. Maybe it was my fault for expecting a bit more from a 5* resort... There is a lot of place for improvement, especially in the rooms. I would not stay here again just based on the room tackynes and old style and the isolated hotel. There's nothing to do around if you don't drive, you are basically stuck at the resort. …
Clean, modern, comfortable room; staff friendly & efficient; food OK but rarely hot. Unfortunately due to location there are no local tavernas to opt for as an alternative. No sign of the “theme nights” advertised and no evening entertainment. Appreciate it’s late in the season & the hotel will be winding down but given they are running at 25% capacity or less, one might anticipate higher standards in terms of meals
So I will start by saying that the hotel isn’t a 5* however we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The room was light and spacious. Excellent shower! The room was cleaned every day with the added touch of bottled water and sometimes a bottle of wine, I even got a rose on our last day. The staff are lovely we didn’t have a problem with anyone. The food was not what I would call great however I am a very fussy eater so that’s on me, hubby always had a full plate and enjoyed the food. I always managed to find something to my taste. The evening meal was always accompanied with water and your choice of wine or beer. The views are spectacular! There is a very well priced bus that goes into the city which we used twice. I didn’t particularly like the use of the plastic cups but I understand why they would use them around the pool area however they could of been bigger. The pools are lovely, we didn’t use any of them as the weather has not been the best but we have enjoyed sitting around the adult pool reading and relaxing. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here, don’t let the bad reviews put you off.…
Obviously my opening comment depends on how much you paid for your stay. We got an excellent deal for a week on all inclusive basis with the flight from Barcelona included. Let me begin with the positives. Very friendly and helpfull staff. A large renovated bedroom with magnificent views ( room 136 ). A good shuttle bus to the rooms some of which are a long way from reception ( we had to walk up 155 steps to the dining room ) The pools are good and not overcrowded. We only drink wine so had no issues as reasonable quality wine was available everywhere. Now the not so good points . Despite the room and bathroom being large there is very little storage space for your clothes and the bathroom is rather dark . We twice requested early wake up calls but didn't get them. The hotel is not suitable for people with mobilty problems as everywhere you go is either up or down steep slopes. The food is not very exciting and usually it's cold . However, despite my complaints I still consider it to be good value.…
