This was one of our great surprises while travelling by car in Central Europe. We were aiming to get close to the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain. Running late we stopped at Ramsau and found accommodation at the Hotel Oberwirt. We learnt that this venerable place welcomed travellers as long as 500 years ago, some tradition! Almost anywhere in this town would be amazing as it is one of the prettiest little places in the Alps. The rooms were dated but clean. Some stairs to climb and no soap or shampoo provided. Located very close to the church in Ramsau that's featured on so many travel posters. The building dates from 1500, so there's a lot of history here! We stayed here two nights while visiting Germany.
