The hotel appears very unpretentious on the outside but it's a lovely place to stay. The hosts were fantastic, very welcoming and helpful, great food. The rooms were clean and cosy. Excellent value for money. The hotel is towards the edge of the village but that's only a ten minute walk to the thermals!

We arrived here as part of our walk along the GR10. The hoteliers provided a service that was noticiable for its freindliness, informality and great rooms (a little weird-decor wise!), completely brilliant food, superb value and preparation. We had an impromptu concert and were provided with a view of Saturn!! Seriously for this price and level, this hotel is completely... More

My family and I recently spent a month touring France staying in a wide range of places and this was the best value. The rooms were clean and functional with the views from the room stunning. The owners of the hotel were hospitable and helpful-we really felt that they made a special effort for us. For example they entertained our... More

Nathalie & Philippe are the most welcoming & charming hosts at this little hotel. Nathalie is a good chef and Philippe a great partner. If you want somewhere welcoming, in a great location, with satisfying food and you are not bothered whether it has the latest modern design touches etc,, then look no further. I fully recommend without hestation

This hotel may not have the fanciest finishes but what it lacks in style it more than makes up with in terms of friendliness and service! The service is absolutely 5 star! The hosts are fantastic and the location is near the ski bus. Highly recommend the 7 euro continental breakfast. Overall this hotel offers supreme value for money.

We spent 4 nights on a skiing holiday in the Pyrenees. It is a truly delightful small hotel run by a very friendly couple who can't do enough for you. The morning we left we had a long drive so they got up half an hour earlier than usual to serve us breakfast. Another morning Monsieur used his telescope to... More

Hotel Castets d'Ayre is well situated in the village of Bareges with ample parking immediately opposite, superb views of the Pyrenees and access to ski busses. The hosts of this establishment are truly the most sincerely welcoming and gracious people I have met. Their local knowledge and sheer generosity of spirit helped make our stay here a memorably enjoyable one.... More

I was going to La Mongie with my girlfriend to go skiing and naively we didn't realise that the tourmelet road closed in the winter. What I expected to be a 30 minute drive (according to google maps) turned out to be 2 hours. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful and sent us in the right... More

I cannot speak too highly of this hotel. It is a modest *1 but Natalie and Philippe do everything to make your stay an enjoyable and typically French experience. They both have excellent senses of humour! Parking is a few steps from the hotel. The place is spotless. The beds are very comfortable. To cater for walkers, there is a... More
