The Tucan "Hotel" is most definitely a hostel with some private rooms, and if you calibrate your expectations accordingly you'll find its a great place and an excellent value. Its perfectly suitable for families, but the vibe on our visit was much more the usual young-ish international budget backpacker scene. The design is unusual: two long blocks of rooms open...

Great dinner at this Hostel/Restaurant . Italian Restaurant owner/chef $10/pp dinner includes choice of homemade pasta dishes or fish & dessert. We split a dish of pasta with bolognese with spaghetti as well as a fish dish with salad. Dessert was grilled pineapple with cinnamon . Great service .

We stumbled upon this eatery while trying to find our accommodations Uvita. After providing directions, Elizabeth brought us some cool water and invited us to try the restaurant during our stay in Uvita. We went three evenings...the food was that good! Christian, our server on each of the three evenings, made several great suggestions of local sights. On our last...

The good stuff: Super friendly owners and staff, helped us out loads when my wife was sick. Staff very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, lots of good advice of stuff to do. Really close to bus stop, supermarket and Bank/ATM. The private room was a decent size and the shared bathrooms were awesome (Great size, shower pressure and very clean)...

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The private room we stayed in was a bit like a prison cell. The kitchen area could have been a bit cleaner. The communal areas were very pleasant. This is quite a basic hostel, so that is what you get, but I cannot fault the staff and owner, who were all lovely.

Close to the bus stop, we were lucky to just walk in and find rooms. This is a delightful place to stay from start to finish. It is just a hostel so expect hostel living but it's one of the great ones. Be aware the even if it says it's booked online, that they keep rooms available for walk-ins. The...

We went for dinner arrived a bit early ( starts at 6:30pm). The owner was very gracious and helpful. We took a stroll and came back. Dinner was really good. Bruschetta and then spaghetti bolonaise followed by creme anglaise. $10 USD per person. Drinks not included $2000 colones for wine, $1000 colones for beer. You can bring your own bottle...

Wonderful atmosphere, extraordinary customer service and exceptional quality/price ratio! We tried the tree-house and it was such an experience!! No problems with bugs/insects at all! Just the chilling sound of the jungle! Really a special place!

Basic rooms but nice and young atmosphere in the common area! A good restaurant inside. Near the main road and several shop and information centre. The only negative notes was the absence of window of our room and the commission of 6% on the credit card. At the end of our travel we reget not to stay more in Uvita...
