This is my third visit to the property and must admit I really like this place for its charming setup and great hospitality. I definitely recommend the place anytime but sharing a brief review to help fellow travellers to decide

Location: 5/5
You can't get any better than this with its central location. The market is just a doddle and public transport links nearby. What's great is it still maintains its tranquility. Ample parking space for guests especially in central Mahabaleshwar is a big plus

Rooms: 3/5
Rooms are basic but clean. A comfy bed for the night and clean towels On a solo trip I don't need anything more. I am travelling solo so generally take the room 9 on the rear. It has some great family rooms too.

Amenities: 3/5
This is a heritage property and if you are in for a great amusement or recreation center look somewhere else. But if you want peace and quiet and maybe a stroll in the park then this is a place to stay.

Service: 5/5
Warm, friendly and prompt.

Cost: 5/5 (₹₹₹)
Rooms cost ~3000 for a couple. It is great value for your money

Overall: 4.5/5

The USP of the hotel is its location, just 5 minutes' walk from the main market. That makes it easy for you to hire taxis for sightseeing, shop and dine at the several food outlets around. The hotel has clean and spacious rooms, adorned with vintage touches. Washrooms were well-maintained, but they have hot water supply for limited hours in the morning (it's not a big problem unless your day begins at 11 in the morning ;))

I was impressed by the generosity of the staff and their service. Stayed for a day and would definitely love to visit again.

Stayed here for one night in the family suite. The rooms are spacious, simple, clean and have no nasty smell. They include an old boxy TV set and basic furniture like a dressing table, wardrobe, table and chairs. Bedsheets were spotless and the blankets were also warm and soft. The bathroom had a comode and all accesories worked fine. Hot water is available in the mornings from 7:30 to 9:30. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is not a 5 star resort by any means but it is well maintained, affordable and offers all basic necessities like soaps and fresh towels. The hotel location is very good and easy to find - the buzzing mahabaleshwar market is only a 5 minute walk away but the hotel area itself is very peaceful and you can hear the birds chirping. Venna lake is just a 2-3 minute drive away. The only downside for me was the early checkout time. Official check out time is 8:30 am but I requested them to allow me to check out at 10:30 am and they complied at no extra cost. There is a small childrens' play area which has a swing, a couple of see-saws, merry go round, slide etc. There is an in-house, open-air restaurant but we didn't dine there. We did however have the complimentary breakfast in the morning though. The breakfast included tea, bread-butter, poha, aloo paratha and dahi. The poha was average but the aloo paratha was good. If you don't want to dine at the in-house restaurant, you can go to the market area which is home to a plethora of cafes and restaurants to suit every one's budget and taste. The hotel has ample parking space. The property feels like, and probably is an old-style village house with its sloping roof and arch-shaped doorways. Overall, I recommend this hotel to non-fussy individuals who do not care much about creature comforts like flat screen TVs, swimming pools, leather sofas etc. Savoy village is not luxurious but it is cheap, cosy and comfortable.

Wouldn't suggest anyone to visit this property unless you are really money conscious nothing except for the location is comforting about this property...rooms were humid...electrical fittings were broken...a grandma fone never worked...bathroom had no/little water...absolutely a no no if you are going with your partner...

The hotel ambiance is really good and the rooms are well maintained. The hotel offers for a stay close to nature .The restaurant offers for a sumptuous meal while allowing you to enjoy the weather of Mahabaleshwar. A good option for couples and for family as well. Other hotels may offer you more amenities like swimming pool, Wi-fi , etcetera which Savoy village don't but then at a place like Mahabaleshwar it is worthless to spend extra for these amenities.Go with Savoy village, it is a value for money hotel:)

Hotel is very near to market so it was very convenient for us with a 2 year old baby to roam around without worrying about parking. Overall ok property. We stayed in a couple room. Room was of decent size, but there was no window, so felt very suffocating. Inside the room there was no feeling of mahabaleswar. Also, the hot water supply was at 7:30 am so, it was really very late for our daily schedule. They server very nice and filled breakfast (included in room rent)!
I would have give 4 star, given the price I paid for a night stay, i.e. 1500/- but I am generously giving 2 star, because we find a head lice on our bed pillow. Management didnot clean the room, once somebody left the room. This was disgusting. Our whole trip go ruined. I was very much worried about my baby. I do not recommend anyone this hotel. Be careful!

I stayed in Savoy Village in February. To start with, this hotel is in the heart of Mahabaleshwar. It is very near to the main market. You can just walk to the market to purchase fresh strawberries or those flavoured chanas...

We checked-in at 8:30 am ..
As soon as we checked-in, the chef in their in house restaurant told us that breakfast is ready. We went and had breakfast on day 1. We had booked two rooms and one room took long to get ready but we were okay with it since we had arrived 30 minutes before the official check-in time.
Almost every tourist spot in Mahabaleshwar is within a radius of 7-8 kms from this hotel. We went for sight seeing and returned to the hotel in the afternoon with a hope that we will have lunch in their in house restaurant but it was closed. When enquired, they told us that the chef has gone out of station. I somehow found it unprofessional but had no other option but to walk down to the nearby market for lunch. The lady at the reception told me that lunch will not be served on both days but breakfast is free.
We retired in the rooms for 2-3 hours in the afternoon and I being a cricket lover, wanted to watch the match on tv...after switching on the tv, the Videocon DTH wasnt catching the signal properly. On top of that, the set top box unit was leaking current. Its really unsafe for families with kids and I request the hotel management to take utmost care of such basic things. My room was at the back side of the hotel and it gave me enough privacy. The rooms are big and very clean. Mattresses were provided and bathroom was also very clean. Hot water is available only during the morning so that's a big negative considering the climate of mahabaleshwar. Dinner was also not served as the hotel's so called chef had gone out of station. Much to my surprise the chef was available next day during breakfast hours but goes out of station during lunch and dinner hours. I dont know if this is the excuse they give to guests because the hotel was supposedly vacant and they didn't wanna cook food for couple of guests in few rooms. I had senior citizens with me and I wanted to stay in a hotel with an in house restaurant so that the elders don't have to travel all the time for meals but the hotel disappointed me totally on this front.
Lastly, on second day, we were again called by the chef for breakfast...upon having breakfast we were handed a bill of 600 Rs for 4 people. I was puzzled when the waiter came up with the bill. When enquired, they told us that breakfast was free only for a day whereas the receptionist at the counter had clearly told me on the previous day that we wont be serving lunch/dinner but breakfast will be free. Even if they were to charge the customer, they should have made it very clear before the customer haves the breakfast. Their chef invites guests for breakfast as if its in their package. I was very pissed because of this non transparency and asked the receptionist to call the manager but she said that manager wont be available. There wasn't any other option left but to pay whatever they demanded.
How can they serve chargeable breakfast to customers without even showing the menu card? BEWARE!!

Recently visited Mahabaleshwar for a couple of day and stayed at Savoy Village. As the name and pics of hotel indicate this is a budget hotel ideal for a casual and relaxing visit to Mahabaleshwar.

Unlike typical hotels, this place is more like a rustic village hotel with literally small village homes opposite to rooms.

Located very close to Main Market. One can walk down to market from here. Staff is nice and friendly, lady at the reception counter was willing to guide us on what all places can be visited closeby. Restaurant is open (covered in rainy season) with decent indian food and reasonable prices. Buffet breakfast included few indian snacks and coffee.
Room were clean, blanket was warm and cosy.. Hotel had made arrangements for hot water during morning hours.

Ideal hotel for those who want to make a quick visit to Mahabaleshwar looking for rooms close to main market and still having a bit of secluded feel !
