If you are looking for a calm place, good enviornment and homely food. This place fits right in. There are next to no monkey problems or mosquito problems. Their rooms are very somple and olden style. We are a family of 4 and stayed in the room which had two king size beds. The rooms are neat and clean and the one we stayed in was non-airconditioned which was fone considering we got temperatures of 18 degrees! It has vast green pastures. Indoor Games suchas Table tennis, carrom and badminton exist. Its close to the market, walking distance. It has ample parking space too. Manager is very adjusting and accomodating.

We went to mahabaleshwar along with our parents. It was our first trip outside mumbai with my daughter (10 months old). First good thing at sight is its very open and airy. The lawn is well maintain with nice flowers and small play area for children. We got two rooms on backside of the hotel which has nice balcony type area wherein you can have tea or breakfast together. For adults, there is table tennis and carom board inside the hotel. Parking facility is also spacious.

Regarding food, Parsi cousin is their speciality. We had sali boti which was decent. However there may be limited options for vegetarians. The staff was very co-operative in all ways. Whatever I needed for my daughter they made it available.

The place is just 5 mins walking distance from market which is another USP. The rates are very reasonable with 1500/- per room. All in all it was holiday well spend.

Have been visiting this Hotel Mayfair for almost last 10 years plus & the is just so comfortable to stay , nice garden around the rooms you stay. The Place is a Old Bungalow converted into a Hotel by owners who are Parsee family & well looked after & serviced by highly experienced Resident Manager Mr. Brji Bhushan Singh. He has been in Mahabaleshwar for last 30 plus years with experience in various other Hotels in & around Mahabaleshwar.

There are about 15 rooms in Old style Bungalow with a hall to play games like carrom, table tennis etc...there is a nice Veranda to sit & relax to the green lawns spread around, there are also newly built accommodation with new rooms & more amenities next to the Bungalow which has almost additional 12 rooms. You also have enough of place for parking cars, they also have arrangements for your drivers at nominal charges. There is a nice dinning hall for having Food.

The food is excellent & of your choice veg & non veg can be prepared if requested also they have set menu for everyday which can also be tried which too is excellent. Its a homely food I must state.

The cost per rooms would depend on the season & holiday days....off season that is Jun to Aug is cheapest (Rainy Season). But worth place to stay in Mahabaleshwar, I am sure you wont regret.

Best Regards -Nitin

Had visited Mahabaleshwar around 15th August 2013 for 2 days and it was continuously raining for 2 days. Still service was decently good. Room was clean but humid due to weather. On first day, the hot water was supplied in buckets. on the other day, we could get it through tap but it was muddy. Hotel guys facilitated in hiring cab for sight-seeing.

TRP was food. It was awesome. We went in Shravan month, so had only vegetation food (all 3 times) but it was great. 3 course meal with different menu all 3 days. Loved it.

I had read a lot of reviews of hotels in Mahabaleshwar on Trip Adviser and planned my hotel. Many hotels are shut down in the monsoons in Mahabaleshwar. Mayfair is open; good news. The hotel rooms are okay, not too great...They require new mirrors, new bedsheets. However, the service is excellent. The staff is very polite and helpful. They will try their level best to make a guest comfortable. Mr. Singh - the manager - is also very helpful. Since my husband and I didn't take a car, we required a hotel close to the main market. Mayfair is just 5 minutes walking distance from the main market. The food they serve is excellent with dessert. They serve veg and non veg. The price of rooms was 1050 + tax per person per day. The rate included hotel stay, breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner. We didn't take the lunch package as we thought we would go siteseeing in the day and have lunch outside. It is great value for money.

I will again say FOOD IS THE BEST!

We were a group of 7 people who went for a trip. We reached there at night, it was around 12.30 am, entered the room and were surprised to see a room that was look alike of a english cottage.. Had fun all night ( as we were awake till 6 am) then went to be obviously got up late and left the cottage at 1 pm (Way after the schedule check out time) but still they dint charge us for that. Its a quite place where you can experience, the calmness of the mountains and sky. If you want to relax or have a weekend trip this is the best place to be.... I would say a gala time is best enjoyed here with friends..... Loved the experience... We were charged Rs. 2000 for a room of 5 people(it was a huge room for atleast 10 people) and Rs. 500 for a small room which was just for 2 people (actually it was smaller than the washroom of the other bigger room). But the experince was good and we enjoyed...

This hotel is slightly off from the market but the walk isn't much of an issue. The market is pretty crowded so you'll probably be glad that it's a bit away. We didn't eat at the hotel but the staff is warm and homely and cook for you if you order a bit in advance.

It's more of a home than a hotel, in fact it's like a bungalow converted into a hotel. They provide hot water in the mornings for 3 hours but do not have a generator during power cuts.

The rooms are minimalistic but clean and tidy. We preferred this hotel to the other touristy, modern, well furnished but terribly tacky options that we checked out. They also have a small garden with 2 swings and a small slide for children to play. Our room had a small sitting area outside which was also nice.

We went during offseason and they charged us Rs 750 per head without food. With food, they charge about Rs 1800 per head.

This is the most pathetic hotel in Mahabaleshwar. The room was pathetic with old furniture smelly bed sheets and old towels. The manager is very rude and doesn’t know how to speak with guest. Avoide this hotel

Mayfair is a cozy, Parsi-owned hotel which has seen better days. Location is great, very close to the market, right next door to Citrus.

It's really old, and it shows. Antique furniture, but poorly maintained (very dirty sofa covers). Rooms are basic, sheets clean but stained, bathroom window shielded from view by a rag. We had booked two rooms (103 & 104), but hot water was available only in 104 (some plumbing problem in 103). Grounds in and around the hotel could also be maintained better. Compared to a more upmarket place like Dina, you see the potential of Mayfair and you feel bad. Probably if the owner lived in the hotel, things would be better managed. Personally, I would pay 30-40% more if the hotel was renovated. If not, wouldn't want to stay again.

Where Mayfair redeems itself is the quality and quantity of food. All meals are inclusive, and they really REALLY feed you well. No headache of 'what to order'...you sit, they bring the food, and you eat and eat! Mutton was excellent, and they are happy to serve you seconds :) Tea is served with a tea cozy - nostalgic, brilliant! But the tea cozy was old and tattered...story of Mayfair - it's all there, but in poor shape.

I really hope the owner of Mayfair reads this, since Mayfair needs renovation to get back to its glory days.
