Location is the best thing about this resort! Very peaceful place.... Executive rooms look new, Rooms above reception are also good... Cottages are nice but needs maintenance... Breakfast served is good... The resort is undergoing some maintenance work, hope they make some more play area for small kids... Service is OK, staff is helpful... Rest everything is good...

I was there for one night with my family, moving in the afternoon and leaving the next day. The hotel is on the way to Tapola lake from Mahabaleswar. A road bifurcates to the hotel. Hills all side and dense forests also. While there, you would feel as if you are living inside a forest, particularly during night, when the only illumination is from the lights of the hotel but total darkness in the surroundings. Rooms are nice. The deluxe ones also have sauna bath. Staff are fine. Breakfast is good although you don't get much choice. Overall a good resort to my experience, very near to Mahabaleswar with the touch of living far from it.

On 29th Nov 2021, I called Forest County to make a reservation for 2 rooms for 2 days visit for my mother in law's 50th Birthday we were going to celebrate, the reservation staff who answered the call was courteous and mentioned the tariff for which I agreed and just out of curiosity asked if we would get a discount, to which he informed that on our total bill we would get 10% and for reservation I would need to make a 25% payment which also I agreed on. He asked to share the mail id and I sent it on WhatsApp. After this conversation and sharing of mail id till 3pm I had not received any mail or intimation of booking so I called again on the same number , this time someone else answered. There was no mention or note of the whole conversation I had in the morning anywhere, So I again gave details again and asked for confirmation. From 3pm to 5pm no mail again and no response to calls. Finally at 5pm the mail cam and this time the room tariff mentioned was higher than what was decided in the morning. So I called and spoke to the person again to which he said I confirmed with the morning staff that this is the rate he gave you , when asked to let me speak to that staff he said he has gone out, I asked to talk to his manager to which he said " I AM THE OWNER OF THE RESORT". So as he was the owner I asked him his name to which he said "OUR COMPANY POLICY DOESNT ALLOW US TO GIVE YOU OUR NAME". Weird he was the owner then what was the company policy. Then he start talking brashly to which I told him I am talking nicely please talk properly. All in the conversation I was calling him SIR. Finally not wanting to spoil the trip I agreed to the tariff and asked about the discount as promised to which he said " I WILL NOT GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT BECAUSE YOU ARE TALKING RUDELY TO ME" I disconnected and booked elsewhere. To the MANAGEMENT AND "OWNER" If you are not courteous and polite in this industry then may be it's the wrong business you are in. Even the street vendor talks with better respect to customers. I have been in this industry for the past 12years working in 5stars, but never seen such pathetic behaviour specially from the RESERVATION TEAM AND "OWNER". THANK GOD I DIDN'T BOOK HERE. WOULD HAVE SPOILT THE WHOLE CELEBRATION IF I DID.

We had booked 3 Deluxe Rooms and were visiting post Diwali for a getaway. While the location of the resort is good and the stay is peaceful, the overall food in the resort is below average. Food Review- None of the dishes served at dinner time were at par for its taste. We had ordered a veg platter, paneer dishes and dal rice. The only good food was the daal rice. The paneer was super chewy, besides the staff messed up by mixing veg Chilli paneer with Chicken. This sort of a miss is not expected. Additionally, the dishes become cold by the time they are served to you in the garden. Since the hotel is isolated, going out for dinner is not a possibility. I would say the management should work on improving the taste of every item on their menu. Breakfast spread is limited but manageable. Room - The deluxe rooms was a big bummer to us, since we had booked three rooms and had already requested the cluster we we expecting to get all three together (as the cluster was assured to us on the phone). However, we were surprised to get one room a little far from the other two. The rooms are generally spacious, however, there is very little space to keep stuff like bags and suitcases. We requested additional benches which was provided after repeated requests. One thing we must point out is that the upkeep of the room is not much. The hotel has been running on full capacity so we would expect better cleanliness of curtains and furniture in the room. We could see shoe marks on the curtains, the wooden cupords are also smelly. Definitely not going to blame the lockdown as the hotel appears to be expanding with new construction so would expect them to atleast have better upkeep in the existing rooms. Covid Protocol - While there are signs to wear a mask in common spaces, the staff is more than happy if guests don't wear a mask. Let's say it's all Bhagvaan bharose and all the best for the next wave. Good Vibes - The Machaan and the pool are nice and scenic places. So if you are visiting do spend the evening chilling out at the Machaan. The staff is good and is ready to help, however, the management needs to work more on skilling the staff and upkeep of all their furniture and rooms.

The property is located away from town in a peaceful place surrounded by greenary. The cottages are good band well furnished. The restaurant provides good menu. There is no bar, but the property allows you to bring your own drings. It is not posh , but worth the cost.

The hotel provided us with a GST bill. But the GST number is not correct. It looks like they are not registered with the Maharashtra GST.... We could not claim the refund of GST and had to incur loss. No body is responding on the mobile phone numbers mentioned on the website. We tried several times but no body picks up the call.

Forest County Resort was, appropriately, inside a forest. By the time we reached, it was night & the route had seemed a little scary. But the Resort itself was well - lit & seemed welcoming. The rooms were a cottage kind. It was sparsely furnished - just the basics. But the AC worked fine which was a relief. For dinner the first night, it seemed nothing was available except Dal Khichdi. The breakfast buffet was decent however - Chhole Bhature, Fried Egg, Omelet, Sabudana Khichdi, Uthapam. But the breakfast area was quite cramped. The location may be a consideration for many, specially if you don't have your own vehicle. The resort is almost half an hour away from the Mahabaleshwar town & public conveyance may not be easily available. Also, we didn't get a cellular network in the resort.

Stayed for 2 nights in Imperial Rooms. Rooms, interiors, balcony, beds etc look very old. Design of room very weird. Sheets, towels seem dirty, zero amenities, non professional housekeeping. Overall get a very oyo rooms vibe and not at all like a resort charging 5-6k per month. Had called twice to get a room with good view but the balcony had a huge pillar in the middle n was on the first floor looking into the parking lot. Food was also not up to the mark at all, ate the later meals at another place. Their property does have good cottages n places with a good view but all the imperial rooms are in very bad condition. One of the rare times I was this disappointed with the type of room, especially since charge was high.

Forest country resort is located deep inside the jungle and little bit far almost 20 mins drive from the main mahabaleswar market. It is located in an isolated area and public transportation is an issue. If you are travelling with your personal vehicle then thats fine.Pot holes in the roads so try to reach prior to sunset. We booked the Imperial double room. The Imperal double room is not a cottage as you see in the photos. The rooms are located in the first floor out of two floors where the ground floor is the resturant and reception area. Pros:-1) Imperial double room has a Jacuzzi bath tub .2) Staff are coperative and attentive.3) Morning breakfast tea is good.Cons:-1)The rooms are not well maintained.Since the location is deep inside the jungle,we find variety of flies insects in the room and dead bugs in the balcony of the room.2) The jacuzzi bath tub is not clean at all however it was functioning properly. We rised the tub with dettol and hot water flush it prior to use.3) The bed is very comfort for a sound sleep however the bed sheets and bed covers are stained although looks cleaned. The bedsheets and bed covers with repeated use have become lint.4) Overal cleanness of the room is just 4/10.5) Staffs were not wearing masks and the automatic hand sanitizer dispenser was plugged out.Breakfast buffet options available during our stay:-Bread,butter.Jam,Aloo Parata, veg cutlet,Tomato sauce,Milk tea, coffee,Curd ( on request),Juice(one variety). No curries in the breakfast.
