#9 of 143 hotels in Baga
Idiosyncratic, ivy-clad Cavala has been charming Baga-bound travellers for over 35 years, and continues to deliver clean, simple, nicely furnished rooms, ranged about a large complex with a central swimming pool. The bar-restaurant cooks up a storm, with live music on most evenings.

Served welcome drinks on arrival at reception, a good experience. Located close to town (so-called happening place) and baga beach. Calm atmosphere with natural looks, plants & greeneries all over resort made the surroundings more attractive. Beer bottles used as plants & road access borders. One can enjoy the drink in bar area (must visit) with live piano in daytime and evening especially during weekends is attractive & high on demand. Visited in Mar 2021 just before 2nd wave of pandemic for two nights. Wish to visit again in the future. Room service boys are good and stay with my little kid and these guys are helped to bring hot water on demand even during late night. Don’t expect any good view from the window – it’s only the movements of the vehicles and advised to close it in late afternoon for mosquito & insects. Swimming pool is not at the main resort and it’s in the opposite side of the resort. Appreciate Mrs. Priyanka for her support.

The Cavala Seaside resort is located a short walk from beautiful Baga Beach. This charming hotel is like a little oasis. Set in the Center of a lively beach town amongst green palm trees. The pool is refreshing on a warm Goan afternoon. The Rooms are clean and spacious.. ours had a very large deck,27 rooms in total. Our delicious breakfasts were included with unlimited cappuccinos. The staff in the office were always very helpful and accommodating. The servers in the morning were pleasant and could not do enough for us. A special “thank you” to Wilson and Roshasaen for their kind attention to our requests. Enjoy your stay at the Cavala!

Rooms were quite spacious, but away from each other and large group cant stay together due to rooms issue. Even the restaurant is not close-by. We need to cross the road to get to restaurant, that too with limited menu.

Located in the corner on the road that leads to Baga beach, this little resort isn't by the seaside as suggested in the name. The view from the rooms aren't any good and you walk out on to the busy lane connecting baga to calangute. While the room was spacious, it doesn't come with double beds. All their rooms have only twin beds for whatever reason. Moreover, they do not serve gravy items in room service. It was my son's birthday on the day we arrived there on May 23rd after a long drive from the airport and I'd requested them to decorate the room with some balloons and get a cake to surprise him. They quoted Rs. 1000 for this and even sent me an email that the amount must be paid in cash at the time of check-in itself. I was indeed taken by surprise as the room only had balloons thrown around - scattered and no sign of the cake. We guessed it might be in the mini-fridge and there it was, tilted and smudged. My son felt happy even with that and we didn't make a fuss about it. The next surprise was the breakfast. Limited menu items to select for veg and non-veg. There was hardly any choice and it was the same breakfast everyday! Bread, Omelette, a small quantity of cut fruits and sausages - all in limited quantity. For vegetarians there was Goan bread and some beans or cottage cheese. The common factor was a juice or tea/coffee. My son only had corn flakes. Breakfast was disappointing. They add it to the room tariff and say complimentary! Staff was well behaved. This place has a small swimming pool across the road. You may expect some live music on weekends. We had stayed at this place earlier some 11 years back. However, after our recent visit, I don't think we will come here again. Also, because we had enough of baga and calangute since the overcrowded beaches with activities and loud bollywood music at the shacks is not our style of holidaying. Food at Souza Lobo has become very expensive! If you like to enjoy Goa in its serenity and charm, then head to South Goa.
