Beautiful place, very friendly staff, and all the comforts and peace you need. The food was a bit hit and miss and a little pricey, and the promised kayaks and SUPs were unavailable, but I'll still go back there in an instant.

I was here during a three week period over Christmas and New Years eve. It was one of the best stays I have had. The hotel is right on the beach and at low tide there is a lovely pool to cool off in. In Zanzibar you need to pole pole - slowly slowly, which means that you slow down,...

Just not as great as the rest of Zanzibar. The north near Nungwi has a much nicer vibe. I also preferred the north east area of Machimvi. The food is not that great and is completely over-priced. The wifi is only strong if you sit in the restaurant. The beach was not that great either. I spent 3 weeks in...

Hi Tarryn. Your review essentially boils down to 2 issues. 1) Your preference for Nungwi/Kendwa as a location over Jambiani. There are certainly people that have their preferences in this regard, this is subjective in that there are some people that prefer one location over the other. From a review perspective this preference is more likely better suited to being...

Fantastic location, fantastic food, incredible. Very accommodating as we just turned up on 27th December without a reservation and needed to stay until new year. The room was spotless and the location was incredible. Views out to the untouched beach and ocean. Restaurant was great - delicious food and chilled out. New Years eve party (Saturday BBQ) was fantastic -...

This hotel may not be all that in terms of room amenities or any of the nice in-room finishings you might expect from a $120-ish/night place, but the location, the layout of the hotel, and the hassle-free and laid back feel for it won't disappoint you. The beach views (with one of the most dramatic tidal movements I have seen),...

Overall nice hotel. Super friendly staff and housekeeping. Aircon in Room 11 not very effective. Room 15 which is a family room has a great layout and super cold aircon. Snorkeling with Captain Chicken highly recommended. Elias at reception assisted with buying fruit from village to keep in our room. Only annoyance the smallest little ants that manage to get...

I've just gotten back from Zanzibar, a trip I took with my friend and dearest boyfriend. We booked through STA and were checked into a hotel in Jambiani called 'Zanzest' (strange name, FYI great food but not the greatest hospitality, the waiters and cleaners are super nice though, heck all the locals in Zanzibar are super cool. Anyway back to...

The hotel was nice for the budget we were on, the pool is a life saver. The overall experience was average though as Jambiani is quite average if you don't kite surf. The tides mean very little swimming time in the sea and basically nothing else to do on the island besides sleep and read.
