We stayed here four nights, but I wish we could have stayed a week. Four nights really just means two, full days, and we crammed in what we could, but my shoulders relax and a smile comes to my face when I daydream about a more-leisurely pace, riding and hiking each day around this lovely farm. The place had a...

While we didn't actually stay at Hacienda Zuleta, we did spend a delightful day there. The hacienda itself is delightful, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch that was beautifully prepared and served in their lovely dining room. We took an excellent, easy (depending on your reaction to the altitude), hike to the Andean Condor Huasi Project that's housed on grounds....

What remarkable experience, staying in this historic hacienda! Hacienda Zuleta was originally built in the 1600's and has been in the family of the current owners since 1895. It was the ranch home of two former presidents of Ecuador, so there are gifts and souvenirs from various heads of state from all over the world. Many items look like they...

Hacienda Zuleta is a remote old impressive location. With horseback riding, condors within walking distance and great food, it's great for travelers who seek a place off the beaten track. The hacienda itself is so steeped in history, you could spend a week just learning about it. But you won't want to miss the beautiful mountain views and the abundant...

Not really a hotel - you are staying at the ancestral farm of an ex president of Ecuador. There are lovely mementoes around the house of the family (photographs etc) and of the statesman. We (like many people) met some of the family when they joined us for meals, which was very interesting. The building themselves are from the late...

“You can not go wrong. All rooms are lovely.”
  • Old embroidery samples reflect Zuleta's role in the industry. (That's my scarf)
  • A comfortable triple room (the boys' larger side with a patio is too messy to photograph!)
  • Fabulous roses everywhere! Everything is simple and beautiful.
