Me and my partner have eaten here as a couple and in a large group and both times the food was outstanding! Staff in the small dining room were lovely and friendly. Only downside was the very unhelpful member of staff behind the front desk and unorganised waiting staff at a private function we attended. Overall, if your looking for...

We visited the Gordon House Hotel restaurant quite by chance when we were walking along the High Street. Luckily they were able to fit us in and gave us a lovely welcome. Although quirky we thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meal which was home cooked. The chef's home made bread and butter pudding with coconut and chocolate was lovely and unusual....

The room was big, the only plus. After attempting the lukewarm warm breakfast I had food poisoning. Don't stay here. Not worth £70. The staff where pleasant enough but as old and tired as the decor. It could be so much better with a freshen up, good cook and attention to detail. It is not even close to 2 stars...

I stayed there last night, the lady on the front desk was very friendly however she seemed to be the only person working in the hotel.. the room was nice.. reminded me of my grandmother's bedroom, not forgetting it was cold, very cold.. no heating however the biscuits made up it for. For what it's worth.. I've never stayed in...

Didn't stay at the hotel, just popped in for quick lunch. Lady who served us was very friendly and efficient. Food arrived quickly, was freshly cooked and good size portions. Excellent value for money.

We stayed a night as we were attending a concert in the cathedral, which wide could see from our room. We received a very warm welcome from Mei and all staff were friendly. It's quirky interesting place. Having read some of the other reviews I don't know what people expect from a 2 star hotel. I would suggest that if...

We stopped for lunch at the Gordon whilst walking about Rochester for the day. The feeling of the dining room is extremely old and I dare say that the wooden panels on the walls are late 19th century as are the paintings on the wall. And the could do with some restoring! The carpet and rest of the restaurant, including cutlery,...

Four of us arrived at the hotel on Tuesday afternoon where we were warmly welcomed. I immediately took to the place. Yes, it could do with a bit of a face lift but couldn't we all? I really enjoyed my stay - I slept like a log and if I go to Rochester again my first port of call would...

This hotel is the tattiest shabbiest hotel we have ever stayed in and we go away a lot! We only stayed for one night so didn't have time to go elsewhere unfortunately. This is nothing that I can say that is complimentary about this hotel, I could write pages about the bad things but don't feel it necessary as it's...

Tried the young chefs specials of Wild Boar ragu, followed by mango ice for pudding. Really yummy and perfect autumnal food. Window seats overlooking the historic High Street and Rochester Cathedral. Good food
