We were pleased able to book table for 2 persons Sunday Lunch (Mothering Sunday) so that we could ensure of having a table. Arrived and made very welcome in small room at front of hotel , we noted that another dinning room was further back in hotel. Pete& ham soup, roast dinners (1-beef+ 1 lamb), all well presented with plenty...

We popped in for lunch on Sunday and there were good bits and bad bits! The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was acceptable, if a little dry - a bit more gravy (with husband's roast) or sauce (with my roasted aubergine) would have been welcome. We didn't ask, maybe we should have... However, I'm sorry to...

The hotel is on the high street so we expected noise outside as it was a Saturday night (and there was plenty of drunken noise!) but bear in mind the windows don't keep much sound out. The room (room 7) was lovely, well decorated, lovely big television on the wall, tea coffee, biscuits, toiletries (but bring your own toiletries as...

Only stayed the 1 night and that was enough. The Hotel is in very good position being right on Rochester High Street and it has its own private car park located at the rear which is very handy. The inside of the hotel is very untidy and smells of damp and fried food. There is no particular style to the...

Stayed here for one night in December for the Christmas market and fair. It was the Dickensian weekend . The rooms were very comfortable and cosy , very clean . The small touches were unexpected , tea coffee biscuits and bottles of water . Unfortunately we didn't get up in time for breakfast so can't comment on that. The staff...

Somewhere to tell my tale since the website I booked it on seem to have chosen to ignore all the facts and put the bare minimum making this place look like an OK place to stay. Also because I contacted the hotel manager as he/she wasn't there when I checked out so I emailed but a month later....nothing, so I...

What's good about it? The location, and some of the staff are friendly. We chose this hotel for an overnight stay as it is in the centre of Rochester, opposite the cathedral. We are not fussy travellers so despite reading the reviews decided to give it a go as we felt that for a central hotel the price of £85...

Visiting Dickens Christmas markets today we could only get a seat in here for food as everywhere else packed. Thus we realised why. The table cloths had shower curtains covering them the toilets were really disgusting. I am sure Trading Standards would not pass these. The roast very unappetising dry roast potatoes no Yorkshire puddings in all pretty sad looking...

Decided to try again after a bad experience some years ago. What a change! Food price A1. food very good, hot, big home made Yorkshires, separate gravy pot, 4 veg + roast potatoes. Service a little slow, but on an event day in Rochester, understandable. Will definitely be back. What ever you've changed, keep it there, it's now right.

Me and my family stopped here for a Sunday dinner. It looked like a nice kept pub and the pricing was good. The restaurant was to the left as soon as you walked through the door, looked nice and there were a few other couples so we continued. All four of us had a roast dinner which was really good,...
