It's a great shame that the Royal Albion Hotel in Broadstairs has a monopoly in this historic town in Kent. The fact that there are no other hotels of merit in Broadstairs, and it's beautiful location on the sea, means that it remains popular and is quickly booked up. Actually the whole of Broadstairs has a feeling of having seen...

The location of this hotel in Broadstairs is excellent, walking distance to town centre, the station, Council car park (voucher for parking free from reception), and overlooking historic Viking Bay. The building is (200 years?) old but has obviously benefitted from extensive recent updating. The public areas are friendly and welcoming and the bar and restaurant were always very busy...

Our second stay at the Royal Albion. This time, we had to book at very short notice. We find the hotel pleasantly comfortable and generally very friendly. During our stay we were made aware of the impending upgrades and look forward to visiting again.

The hotel has a bar, coffee shop and restaurant that is very popular and deservedly so. They serve pretty much anything you would want from breakfast to dinner. There is a reasonable bar selection. In the nice weather there is a very nice garden on the cliff top which is sheltered and sunny.

We stay here at least twice a year, this visit was poor on a couple of points, the food was below the normal standard for both the breakfast an evening meal. The level of service was still excellent. The reception service was very poor, there was an issue with the hot water and they did not bother to get it...

My husband and I wanted a short break away on the coast not more than two hours from our Essex home and a friend suggested Broadstairs. I had a look at hotels there and came across the Royal Albion Hotel which as it was right on the seafront sounded ideal and it was! We absolutely loved the hotel from the...

Booked a top floor, Superior Sea View Room. It exceeded expectations. Room was very well appointed, could not fault anything at all! Everything about it was top quality, both the bedroom and bathroom. Views were to die for across Viking Bay. Bonus was advised at check in that we had room 35, as frequented by Charles Dickens himself. Staff were...

We had never been to the Isle of Thanet, but some friends used to live there and told us how lovely it was. A warm welcome at the hotel, excellent service. No problem when we asked to switch rooms after the first night, we wanted a bath rather than a shower. Delicious breakfasts, well cooked and just the right amount.beautiful...

Had a great weekend at the Royal Albion. A lovely room overlooking the bay very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The only thing was I wished we had a bath instead of a shower. Will definitely return.

I picked the Royal Albion as I had lunch there a couple of years ago when staying in Margate and loved the buzz of this lovely old Georgian Hotel. I picked a room with a view and a balcony. I was surprised that there was no security on the balcony as it joined to all the other rooms with a...
