My wife and I spent 2 nights in Montalcino. Based on other reviews, we reserved a room at Il Giglio. This is a small hotel in an excellent location in Montalcino. Once we arrived in Montalcino, we parked and asked around to find the hotel. Once there, we got reliable directions on how to drive to it. The hotel has...

We stayed in the Il Giglio Dependance House which is just down the road from the main hotel. It was nice enough and worked fairly well for our needs. We were only there for one night. The only thing I would say is that I was told it had a view of the village, but it had a view of...

we stayed in the Mansard (mansarda-loft) apartment. This is our second stay there (first time was 2006) and it was just a s lovely this time. The apartment is large and clean with a 4 poster very comfortable bed and pillows. A lounge, armchair and table and chairs are also in the same large apartment room, and a tv. Its...

Incredible value for a beautiful hotel with amazing food and wine... Have the taster menu... Such a personal service... And Montalcino itself is perfetto! I'd love to go back... And go for dinner at il pogio antico, the best meal I have ever had in my life!

This hotel was exactly what we hoped and expected. The room was comfortable. We had great views. The location is excellent. The breakfast was good. The staff was efficient and helpful. The restaurant provided us with one of the best meals of our stay in Italy. I would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant to friends.

This was a lovely traditional hotel with beautiful, if simple, rooms and fantastic views over theTuscan countryside. Others have complained of poor service and I can understand why, but I think that is unfair. The front desk are simply reserved in a very unItalian way and their English is not great. So you are not greeted with the warmest most...

Arriving to the hotel proved very frustrating despite GPS support only to finally find it and be greeted by one of the most unfriendly hotel staff I have ever met. If she is the owner I feel sorry for the staff. The room was very small but adequate and clean, we had a lovely terrace off of your room with...

I actually stayed at the Affitacamere Anna, which are rooms in a separate building, run by the same people as Il Giglio. Breakfast was at Il Giglio. The decor in the common areas of the Affitacamere Anna was really nice, and my room had a great painted ceiling. The gentleman at the front desk was a great help to me...

We just arrived home (USA) from 4 evenings at il Giglio hotel and we miss it already. The town of Montalcino is beautiful and the il Giglio sits at the edge of town, so the views from the shuttered, large windows are absolutely breathtaking. The bed is comfortable, very modern bath and great attention to the smallest of details (the...

My wife and I wanted to experience Tuscany by staying in two hilltop towns, specifically, San Gimignano and Montalcino. We used Trip Advisor to assist us in the choice of the Il Giglio Hotel and Restuarant in Montalcino and we were not disappointed. This gem is family run who great pride in the accommodation and service they provide. We found...
