One of the first Relais & Chateau designated properties, this lovely Inn features a beautiful garden and outdoor patio, a nice outdoor pool and a top notch (Michelin starred!) restaurant. The rooms are all different and decorated in French country chic. Towel warmers, updated bathrooms, nice linens and a simply wonderful staff make this a special spot. Great location for...

If you want to enjoy some fine dining, in beautiful tranquil 18th century manor house surroundings then the (currently) 53 Euro lunchtime tapas 'taster' menu may be for you. From Creme Brulee a la foie gras, to carpaccio of mackerel to pigeon breast in a jus to die for ending up with an indulgence of chocolate, with many other dishes...

We took four rooms here for a family celebration. We love Tremolat, and this hotel in particular for its high standard of service and the comfort on offer here. It really is like staying at someone's (very grand) home. On this occasion they surpassed themselves. Our luggage was lost on arrival (at Bordeaux), but they managed to despatch a staff...

We had a wonderful stay. The accommodations are perfect and the customer service was excellent. The restaurants were also excellent. The location is ideal for visiting the many beautiful sights in this region

We had two wonderful nights at Le Vieux Logis whilst travelling in the Dordogne area. This boutique hotel is very pretty and is in a peaceful and quiet little town. We went in spring; I am sure Trémolat is full in summer. We were upgraded to suites (probably because the hotel was relatively empty), which were tastefully decorated and very...

Le Vieux Logis has found a way to eloquently balance their exquisitely maintained grounds and impeccable restaurant with an innate sense of charm, as opposed to stuffiness. The friendly service, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful setting make this a "must" if traveling to the area.

We had travelled to Tremolat in the Dordogne from Beynac where we were staying for a week. We had toured Lascaux 11 in the morning and had booked for lunch at the Bistro de la Place in Tremolat (see separate review). After lunch we went for a walk around the lovely village and, as the Bistro is associated with Le...

I stayed here because the hotel and restaurant feature in Martin Walker's Bruno, Chief of Police crime fiction. The Directrice, Estelle Lepers, was extremely friendly, and even invited Mr. Walker to meet me. (He declined--I don't blame him.) To give another example, when I arrived after dark, the road to the parking lot was blocked. She was walking somewhere after...

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. On a luxury bike tour and this was our hotel for 2 nights. So amazingly beautiful and a Michelin starred diner at night. Most beautiful setting and so luxurious.

This was our 4th visit to Le Vieux Logis and it is always a treat. It is understated and charming, with a feel of the old inn it has always been but very comfortable. Each room is different, and we particularly like the ones overlooking the garden. Dinner outside on the terrace in the garden, lit by candles, is never...
