As other reviewers have said - if you want pools and luxury, then you need to go elsewhere. But we had everything we needed - comfortable bed - clean bathroom - plenty of food - nice helpful staff - short distance from both town centre and the ski lift. Breakfast was the usual buffet style - cheese and cold meats.... More

We stopped in Rauris on our way down to Slowenia an Croatia. It is amazing what the owners of this hotel offer to their guests for such a low price. The rooms are rather small but perfectly adaquat. You dive into the 70ies. We had a nice balcony overlooking the mountains. Since we shared the hotel with two bus loads... More

Lovely Austrian Hotel. Rooms were small but cosy. Very friendly and welcoming, it is family run but we found all the staff to be very friendly from the waiters to the cleaners. The food is basic but filling ideal for when you've been skiing all day. Breakfast is buffet, mostly cold meats and cheeses but you can have a boiled... More

Our party of 6 stayed at this hotel in February. Our rooms were basic but clean and warm, with good shower/bath. We all enjoyed the food and there was plenty of options at breakfast so there was no need to go hungry. Evening meals were adequate and our only slight criticism was that the seasoning (salt) was a little more... More

Stayed here for a week in February with my daughter. The rooms are small and look very dated. !970's or 80's. The shower was only seperated by a curtain from the bottom of my daughters bed and the "twin" had the beds in an LK shape. We only had breakfast here which was ok. The main complaint is the horrible... More

We stayed here last week and spent a week there. Yes the rooms are a little basic but the hotel itself is lovely. It is run by a family, the meals are nice. Breakfast is buffet and consists of the usual bread, cold meats and cheese and the evening meals are brought to your table. In the morning they leave... More

the Great thing about The Alpenrose was it provided a great incentive to stay on the slopes as long as possible. The rooms were very basic, rather cramped and I'm not sure they changed the sheets from the previous residents. I thought the descriptions of the 'food smell' were exaggerated, but turned out to be true...the hotel often reeked of... More

We booked the Alpenrose with 2 weeks notice based mainly on the price and we were very pleased with what we got for our money. Firstly its should be noted that Rauris is a quiet resort with limited slopes for intermediate and expert skiers and beginners will find the nursery slopes at the base of the gondola a very good... I stayed at the Alpenrose hotel in February 2012 for my skiing holiday in Rauris. I thought that the location was great because it was right next to BILLA general store and only a field away from the ski slopes. However the rooms were very small, the towl rail came off the wall within two days, the tap wouldn't stop... More
