Spend a night or two in Les Hauts de Montagu (now known as Galenia), it's worth it! The owners are very friendly, they want to go that extra mile for their guests. Parking is free, safe and right outside your suite (cottage), so you don't have to carry your heavy suitcases very far. The estate is a renovated Huguenot farmstead...

We were a little concerned when we arrived to find that Les Hautes was under new management but we should not have worried as Walter and his team were wonderful. They were helpful and made you feel welcomed. The breakfasts were a treat for the eyes and stomach. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

We were not sure whether we should stop in the Montagu area during our trip, however, this place made it definitely worth it. The most unique aspect is the HUGE property. I could easily go for a 10 km run in the morning without entering public roads at all. Be it the pool, the jacuzzi, your private terrace in the...

A wonderful 3 night stay at this family run guesthouse. Rooms are beautiful and spacious with wonderful roll top baths and fabulous private terraces with amazing views. Basil's breakfast was so delicious and the head of 'front of house' "JC" was welcoming and charming. Lovely pool complete with resident ostriches. Lots of walking tracks and the staff will do anything...

Please note that this place recently changed owners (October 2015, if I remember correctly). They currently do not serve dinners, but plan to re-open the dinner restaurant end of this year. Stayed for some nights here and loved it. Rooms are big, well-equipped, quiet and with comfortable beds. Staff is friendly and helpful. The farm has nice walking tracks and the...

Les Hauts de Montagu is stunningly located only 3 km outside of the lovely town of Montagu. It is elevated a little and the terraces offer fantastic views of the mountains and the olive trees. It is clearly indicated and easy to find. The main building is where the reception is and where breakfast is served. Sara and JC and...

This was a good hotel, although we were touring and only stayed one night. The rooms - like separate little houses - were comfortable. The outdoor shower was an experience! We also enjoyed the Jacuzzi on the hillside with excellent views. Breakfast, taken on the terrace, was plentiful with a large variety of fresh ingredients. No aircon, which was a...

We stayed at Les Hauts a couple of time over the years when it still was run by the previous owners Eric and Myriam, who build and developed the place over the years. Cezar - the donkey - is still there, the three ostriches (Louie, Dewey, and Huey) have become 4..and the olive grove has matured. But Eric and Myriam...

What a great place to relax and enjoy the views. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are perfectly done with lots of details. Except one they missed and can do better on is by ironing the bedsheets. Breakfast very well presented on the buffet. If you are stopping in Montegu this is a great place to stay.

We recently stayed here for one night during our visit along the Garden Route. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone staying in Montagu. The rooms are lovely and quite spacious and the breakfast was really good as well. Our only criticism of the place is that it lacks a certain degree of soul. The enormous estate was...
