Spend a bit extra and go for their sea view rooms....watching the sun rise over the sea & mountain is worth the additional charge. Breakfast was lovely and the room was well appointed, bathroom big enough for a party!

Calders Hotel and Conference Centre, whist attempting to pass itself off as a four-star hotel is, in reality, merely a two-star boarding house set in the 1950s. The internal cable-television system does not function and no-one attempts to repair it, despite numerous complaints to the staff, including the fictitious and imaginary general manager whom one never sees in person but...

We have often stayed at Calders overnight as it is a wonderful place opposite the beach front. The hotel is immaculate and very tastefully decorated. The staff are friendly and there is nothing more enjoyable than sitting in the conservatory eating breakfast before the day starts.

Adjoining rooms 11 and 12 great for extended families and the service was superb. We had problems with checking in for flights back home and the staff couldn't do more to help and the advice on local restaurants etc was fantastic. We would return as lovely hotel and so close to beach and amenities for very reasonable price.

Reception staff very welcoming, efficient and helpful. Room was presented superbly, it was comfortable and the bathroom impressive too. Breakfast was really good quality and choice. Good location for the beach and local restaurants. Staff always helpful and smiley, all too rare we found in South Africa, so well done Calders.

10 days at the Calders Hotel were terrific. The staff are well versed in the hospitality business and made our stay very memorable. This hotel does the South African tourism reputation proud. Thanks to all concerned.

Very comfortable room and good service. Breakfast was ok. Bacon was very fatty and the sausages were silly little fingers. I prefer big fat English sausages.. Toast was lovely and warm although they had run out of butter.. The hotel was very quiet so I guess I was there in the low season. I'd recommend a stay in this hotel...
