this is our first camp site during our overall journey in NZ and I believe camp Kiwi Holiday Park can do better as others. we reached at Saturday evening and there was nobody for me to ask for any assistance. We parked our motorhome in the camp site(we was the only one on that time), the environment was dark and... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are a not for profit charity so rely on an honesty system when visitors arrive after the Kiwi House reception is shut. Our facilities are cleaned daily but sometimes other visitors can leave surfaces oily after cooking. We'll certainly keep an eye on this. I hope you enjoyed the quiet surroundings and waking up... Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. It is a small campsite with sites on either side of the driveway so I can understand your confusion! Hope to see you again on the future! More

We stayed here last night on the way from Waitomo to Thames. This is a lovely little site with a nice little kitchen and a very simple outlay but it is so peaceful! All the facilities you need are there and it's close to the town centre! A really brilliant little site!

Really disappointed with the false-advertising of the facilities - especially the 'bbq area' (as listed on their website) which was a pile of bricks with plants growing out of it (see photo attached) The 'camping area' was basically a driveway / car park for the bird park. False advertising = unhappy customers. If the description of the campsite had of... More

We have stayed at this camp many times over the last 20 years. Built by the Lions Club, I think, and now run from the adjacent Kiwi Park. Special place to stay, hear the birds form Kiwi Park during the night, can walk around the area and visit Park. Away from traffic noise, with a sport field and swimming baths... More

We stayed in the ensuite studio. For the price it was very good. Small but not tiny, Lovely & clean with very pleasant and helpful owners. No problem with train noise. Grounds nicely laid out & cared for. Would definitely stay again if we were back in the area

We stayed here for one night and found it to be more than adequate. Not the most fancy campsite you'll ever stay at, but it felt like good value. The kitchen was clean, everything worked and the showers were warm. Also, it's only a 20 minute from from Waitomo Caves.
