The Guest Lodge is in a prime spot in the centre of the village surrounded by beautifully tended gardens. Our room was spotlessly clean and we had stunning views of the surrounding countryside. But what sets this B&B apart is it's wonderful hosts, Colin and Janet. They are a fine example of customer service at its best. From the welcome...

If you are visiting the Waitomo Caves stay the night and enjoy the hospitality of Colin and Janet at the Waitomo Caves Guest lodge. Perched on the hill in the small township the guesthouse surrounded by lovely gardens and is close to places to eat and of course the caves. The rooms were spacious and clean albeit a bit old...

Thanks for the review. The shower is a typical shower set up in New Zealand and Australia. Most showers start off cold as the water in the pipes will be cold and a half-way setting is normally correct for most people with minor adjustments for personal comfort. When turned off, the water normally stops before it has time to turn...

We only stayed for one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The room was comfortable, the gardens were nice. The hosts, Janet and Colin were welcoming and helpful. It's an easy walk to most places. Ample breakfast.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Nicely positioned in the village, with the caves and restaurants nearby. Colin and Janet had lots of good suggestions for the area and made us feel right at home. The room was simple but comfortable, clean and quiet. Would go back.

Thanks for the kind words We are indeed in the centre of the village, close to all eateries and cave operations.

The property is built on the side of a hill so make sure you pack light for your stay here, you don't want to be lugging anything heavy up the steep driveway and up the steps if you're in room 1 as we were. Check in was pleasant and Janet was very helpful when it came to recommendations of what...

Thank you for your review. Guests can drive up the driveway to unload luggage. Room 1 is a second floor room with a lovely view, so one should expect some steps to climb. We have a queen bed and a single bed as some couples prefer separate beds and also might want a child or other family member or friend...

My partner and I stayed here in January and had a lovely stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the amenities were great. Tea, coffee and even homemade biscuits (!!) were provided in the room, along with nice body wash and shampoo. The breakfast in the morning was lovely, held in a sunny room with a great...

Thank you for your review. There are plenty of places around the guest lodge, other than your room, Room 6, where you can pick up Wi-fi. There is warning about this on our website and most people are quite happy to sit under the grapevine to use their smartphones or computers. As for the pub noise, this doesn't happen every...

We stayed one night and we were pleased at how clean the room was, and the beautiful eclectic garden. Grapes, roses, fuchsias, succulents...so charming! It's walking distance to the restaurants and visitor center and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Our room was along the road, so it was rather loud in the evening.

Stayed one night. Room was clean, comfortable and with plenty of room to move around and our own private outside area. Colin and Janet were great hosts and Colin was extremely helpful with suggestions for which caves to visit and other sites to see including where to go to see glow worms in the forest for free! He arranged bookings...

Fabulous one night stay. Lovely room, clean and fresh. Reception was great and and Colin was a wealth of information. He advised us to do one walk in particular which we were able to do and well worth it. Colin's biscuits were delightful. he also arranged our dinner booking as well. Mine of helpful information and when he knew where...

It's nice to hear you enjoyed your stay in Waitomo. We have travelled extensively so can usually point out some interesting things to see and do on the next stage of our guests journey. Not all good things cost money.
