We had a nice room at the front of the hotel which appeared to have been newly refurbished and was lovely, big and clean. The only thing missing was somewhere to hang the towels to dry in the bathroom. The tea and coffee making facilities were great and you also got ample toiletries. If there was anything to grumble about...

I stayed in a room over the main pub for one night in April 2017. It's an old pub, with modern extensions and fittings. It feels a bit creaky in places, especially in the older parts of the building. The main drawbacks for me were: - It was very noisy in my room (TV downstairs, bar noise, people outside the...

Stayed here over a Easter weekend, room was in main part of hotel on second floor. The access to the second floor is up a steep wooden set of stairs which are a little bit tricky to negotiate. The room itself was well furnished, clean and warm. Tea and coffee making facilities were refreshed daily. Internet was free and reliable....

This hotel does not pretend to be a 5 star establishment but it merits a 5 star rating. It's clean and well-appointed, the staff are helpful and the rooms are not overpriced. My room had in it everything I needed, in particular a good shower and a decent bed. Breakfast was good; and the situation on the river is nice.

A group of 8 of us went here Sunday 12th March for a birthday meal. Very pleased with decor. Light and spacious too. Service was good and staff friendly. Starters were lovely especially the grilled halloumi skewers and the Thai fishcake with noodles. Main courses were good, we had Sunday lunch; roast beef, lamb and chicken, generous portions but roast potatoes...

Hotel room was very nice and cosy, and our room had recently been refurbished, only niggle was that a couple of the bulbs had gone in the bathroom and needed replacing. The room that we had originally chosen wasn't available and we were upgraded to a suite. Didn't think it was big enough to be classed as a suite though,...

As a priest I often attend the meal or buffet after a funeral. This was one such occasion, the room had a balcony and large windows with a very nice out look, the bar was close by and the room spacious accommodating everyone comfortably. It was set out with large round tables. The buffet, whilst a simple affair was plentiful...

This is the second time I have been with friends for lunch and found it to be excellent. Good quality food, very good service, comfortable seating, and pleasant lounge to relax in with coffee after a very filling meal.

Stayed twice now and found both rooms to be quiet, spacious and comfortable. I would struggle to fault this place as somewhere to stop over. If staying in Newtown, you couldn't find a much better location. Breakfast selection isn't huge, however good quality.
