Well located at one end of the main street, with its own car park. Friendly staff. Pay the extra for half board - the food is excellent, particularly the Roast Rump Of Welsh Lamb. We stayed for 3 nights with another couple and really enjoyed our stay. We chose two of the courtyard rooms which came with the added bonus...

Thanks so much for a 5-star review! Thrilled you appreciated our location, parking, staff, larger family rooms in the Courtyard - worth every penny of just 12-14 pounds per night more - and, as you so kindly say, our excellent, local, fresh food! There are plenty of outdoor activities and indoor attractions to enjoy in this part of stunning Snowdonia...

From the moment i walked through the door nothing was too much for making my stay more comfortable. I was in one of the converted stable style rooms out the back and it met all of my needs, warm, quite, comfortable and quiet. I eat in the bar and had the Walsh lamb followed by the local ale (Snowdonia ale)....

We are delighted, as hopefully a repeat business guest, you enjoyed our superb welcome, comfortable and quiet Courtyard rooms, and delicious food and local Purple Moose real ale! As to football on TV, despite dozens of requests from some sports-loving guests, we deliberately avoid having a 24-hour subscription channel either in our bar or rooms. We believe it is very...

Last minute booking found us a family room at this town centre hotel. Room was a reasonable size and clean. Parking is a cinch in the dedicated covered garage to the rear. Reception polite and welcoming, bed comfy enough, so no real problems. We opted not to have an evening meal here (it was a touch pricey) and, instead, opted...

Thanks so much for your recommendation of our hotel's facilities and services, particularly the welcoming staff, great family room, easy parking, and satisfactory breakfast. Our food does cost slightly more than some other eateries in town because of the Rosette quality, generous quantity, and table service. We hope you will return again - with an advance booking direct with the...

We dined here in mid-October and the food was delicious. It's a charming, friendly place. We decided to visit because they have a Tesla charger. They were very helpful in reserving the spot for us and allowing us to leave the car overnight (which meant we could enjoy wine with our meal).

Quite right! We are the most charming and friendly place for miles around where both customers/guests and their electric or hybrid cars can re-charge their batteries! We have two new Tesla chargers - fast and universal - and a universal one for other makes which are all in our car park, bookable in advance, free for guests, and with a...

Thanks for discovering us and praising us so highly - definitely their loss and your/our gain! We do try very hard to be the most hospitable, independent, full-service accommodation in the town/area, and are delighted you fully appreciated our central location, clean and quiet room, and superb Continental and/or Full-cooked breakfast! Next time, bring the whole family to stay -...

The place could do with updating but both the food and service are very good. Friendly service and attentive staff. The meat pie is particularly tasty as is the fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce. Although I am not sure that having the radio playing in the restaurant is suitable for an evening meal. It's worth a visit however...

Thanks so much for appreciating our food - the home-made pie of the day and classic fresh fish and chips are particularly popular bar menu choices - and professional service! Usually we do have tasteful background music playing in the restaurant rather than radio. Many public areas and some guest rooms have been, are being, and will be updated/freshened as...

Lovely hotel with a good restaurant. The breakfast is very good. Room rather on the small side but warm and comfortable. Situated on the main street of the town a short walk from the narrow gauge railway stations. Portmerion is only a short drive away

Agree with all your wonderful comments, thanks, apart from the room size - because all of our standard rooms are rated more-than-acceptable by hotel inspectors. Our food for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner is excellent, and we are indeed ideally located to reach every top visitor attraction/activity within an hour of Porthmadog - at the gateway to Snowdonia and...

Rather limited selection of ales from the bar. Dinner main course service with 12 others in the group was somewhat slow, but as we all had different meals perhaps only to be expected. The food was, however, excellent in quality but somewhat expensive and side orders of veg were a little limited in size.

Thanks for your feedback. We have a relatively simple philosophy towards food and drink in a very complex and highly-subjective market. Excellent quality, generous quantity, and all at a reasonable price are our watchwords - beware bars, restaurants or hotels in smaller towns that offer a huge range of dishes or drinks because it's very hard to do/keep everything fresh!...

We stayed for two nights. Our room and bathroom was very small. Pay extra for a large double.{we sneaked a look as we were leaving and they were much better}. We were also right at end of corridor, a long way from reception so it was a bit of a trek. Public areas decor was a bit odd colours. We...

Overall, a positive review in three parts, it seems? Our standard rooms and bathrooms are rated as above industry standard size for a 3-star hotel, while the cleanliness and fixtures/fittings are always scored above average. But we are upgrading some rooms this winter and will be modernising others as part of an ongoing improvement programme. For those guests who might...
