Comfortable stay with my husband who booked this hotel as a base for a trip on the Welsh Highland Line. Our room was located in the main building towards the back where we experienced very little road noise and slept well. I am unable to comment on the annexe accommodation. Dined in the hotel the first evening. Very nice meal... More

Wonderful that, like so many customers/guests who come to Porthmadog to enjoy the world's capital for narrow-gauge railways - you enjoyed and appreciated every aspect of our highly-rated AA hospitality! We pride ourselves on excellent facilities, service and food, and so are delighted you would stay again and have recommended us to so many others. . . More

Popped by on the off chance for Sunday lunch as our kitchen was undergoing a refurb. Craig, the front of house, was so very attentive and went way beyond the call of duty, nothing was too much trouble. The meal was superb; good quality meat and vegetables, cooked to perfection. Portions were huge, so make sure you are hungry when... More

Well, what can we say, except thanks for appreciating and recommending our attentive staff and superb quality and quantity of local and freshly-cooked food! Very few manage to eat more than one course of our Roast Sunday Lunch at just £10.95 per adult and £6.95 per child, though we do offer starters and/or sweets from our Traditional Classics menu for... We booked into this hotel for a short break and we were very happy with every aspect of out trip. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and they upgraded our room free of charge as we had a 4 month old baby. Hotel has lots of character and we couldn't fault it in any way. Food was excellent and... More

Always a pleasure to welcome young families, especially those so discerning as to appreciate the Victorian character of our hotel, the traditional hospitality we offer, the quality of our rooms and food, and the prime location in Porthmadog High Street - at the gateway to stunning Snowdonia and lovely Llyn - for local amenities and world-class attractions/activities! We would definitely... More

We were welcomed upon arrival by Aby, nothing was too much trouble, we had our room upgraded to a bigger room; number 4 which was in the courtyard, it was a great size for the 4 of us and wonderfully quiet.  The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean, it even had an outside terrace area, had the... Yes, you've hit the nail on the proverbial! Our warm welcome and professional service, lovely clean and comfortable rooms, and delicious food do make us a great base for a family - or any other kind of - break! Well located at one end of the main street, with its own car park. Friendly staff. Pay the extra for half board - the food is excellent, particularly the Roast Rump Of Welsh Lamb. We stayed for 3 nights with another couple and really enjoyed our stay. We chose two of the courtyard rooms which came with the added bonus... More

Thanks so much for a 5-star review! Thrilled you appreciated our location, parking, staff, larger family rooms in the Courtyard - worth every penny of just 12-14 pounds per night more - and, as you so kindly say, our excellent, local, fresh food! There are plenty of outdoor activities and indoor attractions to enjoy in this part of stunning Snowdonia... More

From the moment i walked through the door nothing was too much for making my stay more comfortable. I was in one of the converted stable style rooms out the back and it met all of my needs, warm, quite, comfortable and quiet. I eat in the bar and had the Walsh lamb followed by the local ale (Snowdonia ale).... More

We are delighted, as hopefully a repeat business guest, you enjoyed our superb welcome, comfortable and quiet Courtyard rooms, and delicious food and local Purple Moose real ale! As to football on TV, despite dozens of requests from some sports-loving guests, we deliberately avoid having a 24-hour subscription channel either in our bar or rooms. We believe it is very... Last minute booking found us a family room at this town centre hotel. Room was a reasonable size and clean. Parking is a cinch in the dedicated covered garage to the rear. Reception polite and welcoming, bed comfy enough, so no real problems. We opted not to have an evening meal here (it was a touch pricey) and, instead, opted... More

Thanks so much for your recommendation of our hotel's facilities and services, particularly the welcoming staff, great family room, easy parking, and satisfactory breakfast. Our food does cost slightly more than some other eateries in town because of the Rosette quality, generous quantity, and table service. We hope you will return again - with an advance booking direct with the... More

We dined here in mid-October and the food was delicious. It's a charming, friendly place. We decided to visit because they have a Tesla charger. They were very helpful in reserving the spot for us and allowing us to leave the car overnight (which meant we could enjoy wine with our meal).

Quite right! We are the most charming and friendly place for miles around where both customers/guests and their electric or hybrid cars can re-charge their batteries! Thanks for discovering us and praising us so highly - definitely their loss and your/our gain! The place could do with updating but both the food and service are very good. Friendly service and attentive staff. Thanks so much for appreciating our food - the home-made pie of the day and classic fresh fish and chips are particularly popular bar menu choices - and professional service!
