CROESO/WELCOME to Beryl & Barry's lovely home, GWYNFA B&B, PORTHMADOG. We'd like to think that you'll feel very much at home with us here. Your room will be spotlessly clean, with very comfortable beds, smart TV, fridge, kettle, dressing gowns, hairdryer/straighteners and other personal touches. In the morning and evening, our delightful lounge is there for your enjoyment. You can relax watching TV, or reading. You will most definitely enjoy a good breakfast of your choice. We offer Full Welsh, Vegetarian, Vegan or Continental. We have two bedrooms, one with twin beds (or single occupancy) with fabulous views of the mountains, the other has a large double and single bed. Both rooms overlook our beautiful garden. We have parking for two vehicles and a lock up garage for cyclists. Dogs are welcome (on request and a fee is payable). There is a Bus Stop a few meters from the house and the main train station and Ffestiniog Steam Railway are just 10 minutes walk from the house.

Detailed Reviews
Beryl welcomed us to her B&B and it was like going to visit a member of the family you hadn’t seen in a long time. She gave us a tour of the place and lots of useful tips of the local and surrounding area. The property was very clean and tidy and had a very nice feel to it. The beds were extremely comfy and she provided towels, slippers and dressing gowns. The breakfast was really nice and she was very accommodating to myself and my friend who are vegetarian, she had really nice fresh coffee and the breakfast area looks out over her massive garden. My friends and I had a great time staying with Beryl and we will be sure to visit her again, I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area as it is well located for adventuring around the north wales area. We love Beryl and her place ❤️

Cycling past we saw the vacancy sign while on our cycle tour. Pulled in and knocked and there was a room available. Beryl couldn't do enough for us. We were able to store our bikes in the garage. We were shown the room which was very comfortable with a great shower and fresh milk for our tea and coffee. Beryl advised us of what was open and available in the town due to Covid. In the morning we were given an excellent breakfast and when leaving as a nice touch we were given bananas to eat on our journey. In summary an excellent b and b highly recommended, will definitely visit again Mike and John.

Beryl and her lovely partner made us feel very welcome on arrival at their B&B.
Beryl showed us to our twin room and explained about the local area and of places we could try to book a table in to eat.
The twin en-suite room was fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and even had a fridge in it. The bathroom was spotless too and shower was really nice.
Beryl even supplied face cloths and other items for washing hair.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious too with lots of options from cereal to full English.
If you are looking for a home from home to stay in and want to explore the wonders that are in North Wales then this is a perfect place to base yourself. Beryl is just lovely so friendly and welcoming!!
We will be return!

The previous reviews tell it all. A very friendly and welcoming B&B near the centre of Porthmadog. Ours was a large bright room with a large shower ensuite , tea/coffee making facility, small fridge and TV.

We were let down by the local Travelodge who on arrival told us they were not open even though I had a valid booking. Manged to find this lovely B&B, Beryl the owner could not have been more helpful. She allowed us to bring in food from outside to eat on both evenings we stayed. The breakfast was to die for, and the room was topclass. Thanks once again Beryl and we will certainly be back if we are in the area.

We stayed one night at Gwynfa which is close to the centre. The room was very comfortable and cosy with lots of thoughtful touches to make our stay comfortable. The host was exceptionally friendly, providing us with a cup of tea on arrival as we were caught in the rain. She allowed us to bring our dinner from the outside to eat in the dining area, and made us a lovely full english in the morning. It was a memorable stay and we can't recommend enough!

Friendly greeting when arrived. Room and en suite spotless, with extras one would expect from a hotel. Full English breakfast enjoyable food cooked well, plenty of it. The location is very good as one can walk into Porthmadoc town within 10 minutes where there is a High Street of shops and various eating places. Thank you so much for your hospitality Beryl. We spent 3 nights at Gwynfa and had a very enjoyable time. Hosts Beryl and Barry were very welcoming and full of entertaining chat at breakfast. Beryl happy to give welsh pronunciation lessons which were very much needed and recommended places to go and things to see.
The breakfast was excellent and set us up each day before heading out. No lunch necessary. The room was very clean and well stocked with everything you would expect and more. After a long day climbing Snowden it was great having access to ibuprofen in the room as the legs ached.
There is a very comfortable lounge available to guests with a big TV, ideal for watching the Euro semi-finals.
The location of the B&B was excellent. It was less then 5 mins to the main street of Porthmadog and there was a supermarket across the road.

My wife and I rode on the Ffestiniog and Highland railway from Porthmadog to Caernarfon as a birthday treat. We stayed for 2 nights at Gwynfa House, a superior b&b less than 10 minutes walk away from Porthmadog station. The hosts were Beryl and Barry, we couldn’t have wished for more congenial hosts. Lovely people. They couldn’t do enough for us. The accommodation was quality, very clean and very comfortable, everything we needed. The breakfasts were also quality, full and very tasty. We had such a good weekend we intend to stay here again whilst we explore the Ffestiniog and Blaenau railway.
We have no hesitation recommending Beryls b&b to anyone that seeks superior accommodation and a friendly, warm atmosphere.
