Tarbert was a half way meeting point for me(staying on Arran) and my aunt and uncle (staying in Carradale) on a seriously wet day. We just need somewhere warm and dry with a view . The West Loch was perfect. We were made to feel very welcome and given generous amounts of tea and coffee with lovely tablet on the...

On our way back from Campbeltown we were so hungry we had to stop somewhere. We were so lucky we stopped at that restaurant. We ate there on 28.05. The waitress working that evening was very friendly and polite. When she brought our food and we started eating we were pleased instantly. Everything on our plates was perfect in our...

As a motely crew of 7 arriving bedraggled and exhausted (and ravenous) from the Scottish Series Sailing Regatta - we were welcomed in and treated to a very, very good meal. Couldn't fault the hospitality or the food. This place is a must!

Living in Kintyre it's great to see the uplift in good eateries taking root, so it's with a heavy heart that the West Loch Hotel only receives a 'could do better'. I really wanted to like this hotel as we have Manx friends coming to visit in August and I thought the West Loch would fit the bill. The location...

A friend and I stopped here for the night while cycling route 78. First impressions were that the staff could not have been more helpful. They were happy to store our bikes in the garage area and were very welcoming. The room was in the attic and had a double and a single bed and was therefore very spacious. We...

My sister and I broke our journey from York to Campbeltown at this delightful hostelry. We arrived at 5.30pm and were met by the owner, Andrew. He was more than friendly and very professional. We chatted for a few minutes, and found out about the hotel and its history. We went to our rooms, and found them to be immaculately...

We are a family of 4 who got a flat tire on our rental just a little ways from the hotel on Good Friday!. We literally rolled into the parking lot. The manager called Herts for us. since there wasn`t a spare in the car, There were no other tires in the "area" which would fit our car. Hertz had...

Second time have eaten here. Food good again, little overpriced and could do with a bit more choice. Last time ate here wasn't impressed by one of the female owners abruptness or indeed the older waitress (the one with the blonde shade of hair) as she didn't manage to crack a smile once. These 2 points overshadowed the rest of...
