Booked a 2 night stay by my visiting Irish girlfriend, she wanted to stay in a castle and wasn't disappointed. Great deal through groupon well worth the travel, the ferry to Tarbert seemed a bit pricy but saves lots of time, you can go by road though it takes longer. Lots to see around the gardens and has walkways laid...

We visited Stonefield last year and enjoyed a lovely short break in beautiful surroundings. The scenery from the beautiful glass lined dining room and the grounds of the hotel itself were stunning and the food was superb. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we hope to make a return visit this year some time. It is also a...

En-route from Arran to Oban, we were passing through Tarbert and were not impressed with the choice of restaurants in the village. Just outside of the village we saw the signs for this hotel and were pleasantly surprised. A castle in quiet grounds, and on the back you will find the restaurant with fantastic views over Loch Fyne. Enjoy an...

A beautiful country house in fine large gardens. Great value for money. We found the service and breakfast excellent (go for one of the fish breakfasts rather than the fry-up). Our only let-down was the bar: why not offer some decent beers, at least in bottles, when there are wonderful breweries in Scotland, including the superb Loch Fyne Brewery only...

This hotel is in a beautiful location. The bar and restaurant on the ground floor are very quaint with breathtaking views. Dinner and breakfast was good to average. We had a twin room on the ground floor that was really very tired and in need of renovation. WiFi was poor at best.

Just returned from a holiday with Great Rail Journeys, which I went on with my Mum. We flew to Glasgow and then took a train to Oban then coach to the Stonefield Castle Hotel. My mother's room (No.4) had lots of black mould around the bath. This was replaced within 24 hours. The furniture was dark and old, not antique...

We have stayed at this castle on many occasions and this is one of our favourite hotels which makes for a great short break. It is also a lovely drive from Glasgow which takes around 2 hours and along the way you will pass by Loch Lomond, Arrochar and Inverary. The castle is an impressive mansion house in a stunning...

Coming from Sweden this is what a scottish castle should look like. I loved every minute of staying there. The room was ok not fanch pamts but perfect just because that. And the food. Definitely one of the best meals in a long time and absolutely the best on our Scotch trip. The view was breathtaking. Just stayed one night...

This hotel has a wonderful location but needs to investment to modernize the rooms, which are tiny and quite dated. Also, no doubt due to the thickness of some of the Castle walls, internet is patchy and very slow. That said, in the newer portion of the Hotel the walls were quite thin and it was quite easy to hear...

Truly lovely setting in nice park on the shores of Loch Fyne. Grand old baronial pile, huge rooms, 4-poster bed (hard mattress), draughty and painted-over windows, absolutly crappy bathroom ! Mouldy wallpaper, rusted bathtub faucets, make-shift DIY shower installation -disgraceful. This was supposed to be a superior room for 225 pounds (DBB). Impressive bar, dated dining room with admittedly great...
