Booked the hotel for three nights half board. The hotel is in a great location, Sue the owner is very genial and provides maps and information regarding the locality and the hikes around the village. The staff were all very friendly and most conscientious always willing to help. Becki keeps the whole hotel spotlessly clean and welcoming. The food was...

Stayed for a two day break in this Village Centre Pub / Hotel and met some delightful locals who were a lot of fun an made us very welcome with typical North Yorkshire banter...........Our 'throw together team' even came 2nd in the, very well attended, 'Pub Quiz' and I am sure that we would have won if it had not...

Somehow, we acquired a dog on our walk here. The entire staff (and one or two customers), got involved in finding his rightful owner, and we were most grateful, as he was a grand dog. Our room was lovely, the food was great, & not overpriced, and the service was first class throughout our stay. Rebecca is as mad as...

Stayed four nights during our recent U.K. vacation. Very spacious room overlooking the main road if we had and observation and this is not a complaint the T.V. could have been larger, but who wants to watch T.V. when staying in such a great location. Hotel staff from the owners down very pleasant and helpful, wide selection of food served...

The room was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. We would have loved to have explored the area which was beautiful so we will have to...

A very friendly and chatty welcome from the landlady, followed by a splendid Sunday lunch. The beef was cooked to perfection as were the vegetables.Being on my own I choose to eat in the bar rather than the very pleasant restaurant area, although quiet (12 mid day) all that came in nodded or said hello. All the staff were friendly...

Stopped for 2 nights over the August Bank Holiday. This hotel is lovely, a great base for exploring the Dales(my favourite place in the UK). The breakfast was excellent, evening meals were even better. Staff very helpful and always around if you need any help. Hotel could do with some modernisation, its not tatty but just like an old pub....

Set in a secluded pretty hamlet off the beaten track. A good base with clean rooms, jolly pub, & attractive dining room. Good tasty English breakfast . Shower couldn't be adjusted to less than very hot! So used the good size bath. Evening meal fair. Had lamb which was nicely prepared but had some gristle & bit fatty. My wife's...

I had 2 good nights here. I think the rooms do vary and maybe I was in a less high profile one but I was very happy with it all the same. Some have better views than others but I am not sure how much that matters. I also saw one of the special ones and that looked very desirable....
