This hotel should be the subject of a documentary on how to make customers feel unwelcome. The landlady was abrupt and devoid of any customer service skills. She single handedly managed to make our weekend stay an uncomfortable experience, this was despite the efforts of the rest of the staff who were very good. Within a short time of checking...

We visited the restaurant as non=residents. We received a warm welcome in the bar and were shown to a table in the pretty restaurant overlooking the garden. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food good and wholesome. We would eat there again if visiting Askrigg.

We were staying locally at a B&B and had our first evening meal here. It was so good we went back the next evening having cancelled a previous reservation in the area. Great food, well presented and reasonably priced. The waitresses were charming and very helpful.

Returning today from a 4 night b&b break, lovely comfortable rooms, welcoming staff, breakfast was very good with cereals, fruit, yoghurt, juices, coffee to help yourself to. Orders are taken for the full English, also tea and toast are served to the table. Nice bar area with darts board and pool table. Area is nice and locals are very friendly....

This is a great little find nestled in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales & the perfect spot to spend a restful break whilst enjoying the natural beauty of this place. Staff are friendly & efficient when serving in the onsite restaurant. The food here is excellent & served in the cosy conservatory setting with open views beyond the car...

If you want good beers and tasty fresh food then this is well worth a try. We stayed locally and opted to eat here three nights out of seven. Far better for food and service than another establishment in the village that seems to be badly organised and appears to trade on its "All Creatures" fame. Would happily recommend the...

Popped in to watch the Euros football. Great tv, plenty of room in a pleasant atmosphere. Excellent choice of beers with some local micro breweries specials. Didn't try any food but those who did looked well satisfied

Only here for a couple of days with my wife and her sister for B & B and dinner prior to our main break a couple of miles away. Sue (the proprietor) remembered us from our last visit in 2015. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner were very good quality although one of our party requires gluten-free...

We had a couple of very nice meals in the restaurant. There was a good choice on the menu, the food was cooked to order so lovely and fresh and very tasty. My dad had the cheese board on our second visit and was very pleasantly surprised by the amount and variety of cheese, biscuits and other accompaniments. The staff...
