The rooms are light and spacious, well-heated and with every comfort. My bathroom was as big as the bedroom. The breakfasts are delicious with lots of home-made jams and fruit salad. And the welcome from Dorothy, Les and Wendy so warm that I felt I lived there. The house is right in the village, just a few minutes' walk to a...

Excellent B & B, 5 star plus made to feel part of the family. Every aspect was excellent - breakfast and room. Some nice touches like chocolates in room and generous amounts of tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Very handily placed to visit all the Yorkshire Dale attractions. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again!

Can't praise this place enough. Everything to a very high standard, but at the same time, very comfy and cosy. Great hosts, fab beds, spotlessly clean, personal touches and delicious breakfast, esp the warm croissants with scrambled egg and smoked salmon...beautiful with a big pot of Yorkshire tea!! They have got everything just right for their guests.

Our stay began with a very warm welcome and a cup of tea with some cake. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good and plentiful. We only wish we could have stayed longer. The location was good for pubs and restaurants for an evening meal and also a very good centre for the Dales.

We arranged tickets for two Swaledale Festival concerts, for the third year running. Our usual place was booked up (it was a Bank Holiday weekend) so we looked for a convenient b&b with a high TA rating. It was everything we hoped for - thoughtfully furnished, well decorated, good facilities, quiet, comfortable, friendly people. Lots of period features. Walking distance...
