From the beginning we felt like being guests of the family, not like paying customers. Very nice and big room, although 2 real beds for the children would have been better than one mattress on the floor (less fighting about who sleeps where ;-) ), but everything clean and cosy. And the breakfast... just delightfull! Best quality food lovingly prepared!...

We have just returned from visiting Askrigg, we love this village and in August we stayed in a cottage, We were limited on this occasion to a weekend so opted to stay at Holmedale Bed and Breakfast. We are so pleased we did. Helen greeted us very warmly and spent lots of time chatting with us. We stayed in The...

We stayed for 5 nights. The breakfasts were great, the beds were comfortable and the welcome warm. However, the room could do with a bit of an upgrade. The bathroom only had a small hook to hang towels or clothes. The bathmat arrived on day two and the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned each day. The shower was so hard to...

Helen is really really warm, welcoming & friendly at her village centre Bed & Breakfast so much so that it is difficult to complain face to face.... but I feel that some 'constructive criticism' [which will hopefully be taken as such] is called for. On the plus side the location is a good for local walking & the village has...

Me and my partner came for a few days to get away from the city and it couldn't have been any more perfect. Helen was so welcoming and made us feel right at home, recommending walks, and pubs in the local area. We stayed in the St. Oswolds room, with a lovely view of the church. The room was very...
