Nice hotel with a great room which faced the Plaza de las Armas. Lady at front desk was very pleasant and accommodating not so much the gentlemen who was sarcastic and did not have very good customer service. Room was tastefully decorated.

The hotel is well appointed and well priced for budget travelers. It's location across from the Parador puts you at the heart of the old town and steps from excellent bars and restaurants. The staff was helpful and spoke English as well as Spanish, Basque and French.

We stayed here for one night. Our room was on the back of the hotel with a view over rooftops so there was no street noise. But the room was not well insulated so we were bothered by the noise from the TV and conversation of our neighbors. The room was small, clean, and colorfully decorated. The Wi Fi worked...

Small, funky, amazing village and views, comfortable, semi-helpful staff, fabulous village, close to and cheaper than San Sebastian, terrific restaurants in and close to town, not great breakfast, amazing shower and very reasonable. We will go back.

Stayed here on the first night of the Camino. Went with it, however it certainly felt like a pilgrimage. The room was small, and the bath was smaller (perhaps 3ft x 2ft). The evening meal was poor, the fish came out and had not been thawed properly the middle was still frozen. They did provide us with a different meal,...

A group of us -13 - having never been to this area of Spain before enjoyed the hospitality of Hotel San Nikolas very much. We all had different types of rooms and bathrooms but there were no complaints. Dinner was included - whole trip booked through Hike Pyrenees and we ate it outside on the square watching and listening to...

I have been coming to this Hotel since 1993 as it is at the San Nikolas where I met my husband in1993. It is still the quaint hotel it always was but the service seems to have gone downhill now that the owners themselves don't run it. The three of us were put in a room ( and we had...

it is managed by the owner's daughter and her husband. they are both very friendly and he was very helpful at check in. (We are in our 80's and the elevator is small so he insisted that we go up and then he came up with our luggage.) good continental breakfast. the room and ensuite were clean and well equipped....

We stayed here for 2 nights in September 2014 with two friends (one is a native Spanish speaker) based on a recommendation in Rick Steves' Spain 2014 guide. He called it an "enchanting, seldom-visited town." The small hotel (17 rooms) faces the Plaza de Armas, the parador (old castle), tourist office and the Bay of Txingudi across from Hendaye, France....

Wonderful location in the square in the old medieval town with views . Our room had a sea view but only if you stood on the steps under the window ! The room was very basic, no bed side tables but it did, however, have a bizarre wobbly, homemade sort of four poster bed draped with tatty net, The bathroom...
