We enjoyed our stay in the Quinta so much that we almost extended our stay there. From that place you can easily do day trips to the surrounding villages and archeological sites. Our room was very quiet and the bed good, relaxation was therefor guaranteed. The personnel is outstanding!! I’ve rarely seen a so kind and helpful service. Breakfast is very good too. The only thing I could criticize is that the Quinta could be a little better maintained, with regards to little reparations on the property. Overall a great place to stay!

My job requires me to travel to new cities every weekend, to meet new people and to stay at different places each time. I was very surprised to end up in this luxurious hotel. I had never stayed at a rural hotel and I was baffled by it. The room made me feel if though I was staying in a hotel - it was very spacious and classy. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the view was breathtaking.

A nightmare from the start. We choose the Quinta Do Pinheiro Eco Resort, to hold our wedding and for a place for 30+ members of my family and friends to stay, including 9 children. I will list the problems we had from the very start: Buildings not completed with prisoners and one prison guard, being used to work on what was essentially a building site right opposite the pool. Most of the activities on the website not available and the indoor pool and health club a shell of a building. Electrical wires left lying acroos main walkways. Both children's and adult's pools too dirty to use upon arrival, with overgrown grass and weeds around one and mud and tufts of newly planted grass around the other. A broken bottle left outside patio doors of one room where 3 toddlers would be staying and playing. A manhole cover balancing against a wall, whilst the actual hole was exposed, again directly outside a patio door. 3 cots promised, 2 received 1 received at 10pm having been promised it at 3pm, baby unable to go down for a sleep despite travelling all day. Then upon arrival it is broken, has a dirty mattress and no bedding. Rarely someone on reception and usually only one or two members of staff available, despite having a bar and 2 restaurants and covering around 8 acres!!. This resulted in very long waits for drinks, up to one hour one evening. And a long wait, again 1 hour, for 2 hot chocolates to help 2 children get off to sleep. Also a non-existent 24hr reception twice resulted in guests being locked out all night. Fridges not working in 2 of the rooms. A chest of drawers glued shut in one of the rooms with no other space for clothes. A leaky toilet in one room and leaky showers in 3 others. In 4 of the rooms containing a total of 9 adults and 5 children the heating began to come on randomly at night and in the day. This was reported to the managing director who declared it impossible. With the temperatures exceeded 30 degrees outside during the night, it was impossible to sleep. Only after 5 days and 4 nights of constant complaints was an engineer sent for. Finally, having had enough of the continuous problems and terrible service the remaining guests had enough and decided to check out 4 days early. They gave the hotel 48 hours notice of their intentions and were promptly advised that they would have to pay the full amount, including the 4 days that they no longer required, due to the increasingly poor conditions. The managing director proceeded to lock all the gates and parked Land Rovers in front of our vehicles, preventing them and us (the happily married couple who had paid in full) from leaving until the outstanding bills were settled. They held us to ransom and we had no choice but to pay, losing over £300. This hotel made a fortune from the guests as most stayed for a week and ate there and bought drinks there, despite the conditions, because it was convenient for 30 people including children not to have to move around. This is the reason we chose this place. Our wedding was held there, this actually went very well, but again they made a great deal of money, far more than £300. To be treated like this towards the end of our "honeymoon" was appalling and upset us a great deal. It was disturbing to be "held to ransom" as we were and embarrassing for us as we chose the place for everyone to stay, we felt responsible. I would not recommend this Eco Resort to anyone, especially NOT families and hope this review has prevented travellers from encountering the many problems we endured.

The hotel is magnificent with its rural scenario. I booked a Saint Valentine's Dinner for two. The experience was good. The ambient was very romantic, ladies were given a red rose at the entrance, and the food was average.

We could have dinner at any time between 8pm and 10.30pm. Nevertheless, no one told us that if we decided to have dinner at 9.30, most the food could bee cold. In fact, when we arrived, most of the couples (mostly 40/50 years old) had already finished their meals, and one member of the staff told us that we should probably came up earlier. And that wasn't a nice thing to say as we arrived in the middle of the serving time.

To sum up, it is a place worth visiting, the restaurant is beautiful, but the value for money, particularly in special occasions is not worthy.

I like to come every time in this beautiful resort.
For its quite atmosphere, its well furbished rooms, its relaxing environment, the kindness of its personnel.
If you are a golf player or if you are simply wandering in Porto area, choose this resort and you will come back again and again.

I stay one entire day at Hotel Charme Quinta do Pinheiro and i loved it. The decoration in granite all over the place. The trees the space and farm the quiet... very good.
The living rooms decoration and fire place is very pleasant and the country style is fantastic.
The service was great as well.

They have also a small area with a swimming pool. Nothing special but very sympathic , relax and made with care.

You are at 30m car driving from Porto city so, it is easy to reach there. The trip into here is very nice and relaxing landscapes.

Only 30 minutes by car from the Porto airport, (it is a little rural-but not too far, a movie theatre and mall only 3 KM away) we stayed in the suite #20 and loved loved loved it! The people were very very friendly, spoke English, and the breakfast was very good and included. Scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, meats, cheese, breads, and a fresh squeezed juice. Our room was great, free bottle of wine, heated bathroom floor, twin sinks.

We were amazed when we drove up the farm road to discover the wonderfully restored farm complex. We received a warm welcome and excellent service. Breakfast was great with all the food you could ask for. The general location allowed us to visit the amazing sights of the area with ease. Our room and the sitting area were filled with antiques which we really appreciated.
Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We stayed only one night, so our experience was limited. Our room (#18) was very pleasant with some attractive exposed granite walls/features. The staff were helpful - they arranged an early breakfast for us as we had an early flight. We had a buffet dinner which was fairly basic but extremely good value at 15 Euros including wine. The main hotel building gives a quite up-market impression, making the room rate (95 Euros) pretty reasonable. Facilities around the hotel seemed only half finished or semi-derelict in some cases though there was no building work actually in progress - it gives the impression that further development has ceased. Overall we would recommend the hotel for a short stay, but not to anyone expecting the full range of facilities as advertised. The surrounding area, like much of Portugal, is like a never-ending suburb, so is not open countryside as we would know it. Access to Porto airport and city is extremely easy on the excellent motorway network.

Our Hotel doesn't have a Restaurant, however, there are several Restaurants just at a 5/10 minutes distance (by car) from the Hotel. As for Breakfast, we inform you that it is included in all our rates, and is served every morning between 08:00H and 10:30H.
