The house is centrally located and has a very well decorated and relaxing environment. The breakfast is excellent and the service is perfect. The great hospitality of the hotel owner and staff made us feel easily at home. It is like Arraiolos and Alentejo which is beautiful in a simple way without being pretentious. Highly recommended for all types of...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Casa do Platano - the rooms are beautifully presented & very spacious, the owners & staff are relaxed & friendly & the breakfasts delicious. Arraiolos is a beautiful, untouched village set high in the hills with many places to explore.

This hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere due to the attention paid to every detail. The rooms are identified by colour rather than numbers, what a great idea. In each room the decor is selected according to its name. Spotlessly clean and well appointed bathrooms. The furniture all seems to stem from IKEA, so has clean looks. There is a...

We stayed in March which was off season but we enjoyed our stay. Nice room and a great breakfast. It is a small town so we found free parking on the street and could walk to restaurants and shopping. This is a great stop for a trip from Southern Spain to Lisbon.

The Hotel is fabulous. In summer it will be an oasis with private swimming pool. Great welcome, well furnished room, quality breakfast, honesty bar, fantastic guest lounge. Near local restaurant serving giant size portions and reasonably priced drinks. We were escorted to a parking space close by. For us it was a little difficult to find as the photograph is...

As you'd expect, the house is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable and extremely (maybe more than extremely) clean and the personal is very friendly and helpful. It's also centrally located in Arraiolos, a cute town, and its pool is great for those hot days. These are all things that one takes for granted, but their breakfast... is something to...

On our recent trip through Spain and Portugal we spent three nights at the Casa do Platano in the very lovely town of Arraiolos, Portugal. The entire property is spotlessly clean and the very friendly owners and staff pay close attention to every detail. The included breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of offerings. One of the best places...

Alentejo is a sparsely populated region of golden plains, smooth hills and old white villages. It feature beautiful places and historical sites on unique scenic locations. Once a land of large farms, hard work and poverty, it was for many years just a crossing place between Lisbon and Algarve. But Alentejo slowly become a destination on its own, gaining a...
