My wife and I had a very pleasant stay for 3 nights at Le Lumie right at the end of August. We had GPS and found the little street below the cathedral where we were advised to park near Le Lumie. As you have read, Modica is centered in a valley with houses built up into the hillsides, and this...

The hosts were so lovely and accommodating- we felt as ease immediately! We travelled around Sicily (Siracusa, Ortigia, Palermo, Milazzo,Taormina) and can honestly say that we had the best breakfast here at Le Lumie. Melt in the mouth pastries, fresh chilled melon and even chocolate granita one day!! The view from the courtyard is magical, especially in the evening- when...

In a city of winding lanes, twisting along a timeless hilltop, it only makes sense that Le Lumie is hidden, which is partly what make it so charming. Knowing from Trip Advisor that the location was a little hard to find, the daughter of the owners, Federica, came to meet us in the center of town and personally drove us...

We had read about Le Lumie a few years ago in The Guardian and kept the cutting and were so glad we did - it was a perfect base for the south of Sicily and although it is a challenge to find - Marta came out and found us on foot while we were guided in by Federika - it...

On a very busy weekend in Modica, this hotel lost our booking. I sent the booking request through their website and then followed it up in an email asking them to confirm the booking. I received a reply "confirming the availability of the room" and received no further communication. After a difficult journey finding the place, as other reviewers have...

It’s the first time that I respond to a critique on Trip Advisor because what I have read doesn't correspond to the truth. You have sent from our site one "Application Of Information is Availability' ", and I have responded to the application writing that there had been the availability of the room since April 25 to April 27. Nevertheless...

We spent a week at Le Lumie exploring Modica and the local area. We had the Blue Room which was lovely, a good size and very confortable. We arrived from the airport late at night and got lost but Federica cam out and found us! The terrace has lovely views over the old town and the breakfasts were magnificent. We...

We spent three nights at le lumie after reading the Guardian review and we were not disappointed. Delightful setting overlooking Modica, charming terraced garden and delicious breakfast. We were in the blue room which was very comfortable, if a little dark. Federica was quite lovely and very helpful - her mum was also lovely but a combination of our poor...

A great little boutique B&B which we visited for two nights. It was recommended in a recent review in the Guardian so we decided it had to be the one to stay at. The view of Modica is excellent from the room we had and it was finished to a high standard. Question to host > when are you gonna...

B&B, run by a sweet mother and two sweet, english-speaking daughters. The B&B is clean, quiet (no traffic on the surrounding streets and no bars in the neighbourhood) and spacious. We had the brown room, with a good bed, a tiny balcony and a bathroom with a window. The garden is used as space to sit or read and to...

Absolutely lovely B&B. Incredibly nice owners that go the extra mile to make sure you feel welcome. And the location and the view are simply breathtaking! Perfect place to explore Modica and Ragusa from.
