We stayed at the Costa Brada in 2019. It was a fantastic experience. Because it was pre- Covid there were more options for dining experiences. Nonetheless, we still loved it. A great great great staff. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Beautiful beach. A newly renovated amazing pool. Lovely rooms. Great bar and very nice cocktail hour. A spectacular sunset every night. We enjoyed it enough in 2019 we came back in September 2022.

Dear TMamad1931 Thank You very much for taking the time to spend these really nice words for our hotel; it is always a source of satisfaction for us to see guests coming back again after an amazing first time. It is true that the pandemic changed the managment of food & beverage in our hotel; after a few months in which people were even scared of having lunch or dinner out with family or friends, we put all our efforts in offering a high-level-of-Hygiene service of restoration with lunch and dinner served at the table and a buffet breakfast respecting all the health and sanitary measures, but always proposing a rich and varied menu, different every day and proposing meal from the local as well as international tradition. As you said, all the members of our team always try to meet our guests’ needs and requests in order to make them feel “at home” and comfortable. The beach, with its white sand, crystal clear Ionian sea and only four spacious raws of parasols, is really our flagship, and together with some amazing sunsents and a superb bar service, helps us create unforgettables atmospheres and experiences for our guests. The rooms, a part of which renovated last winter, and the open-air swimming pool, renovated last year, reflect the sense of peace and relax that the hotel wants to convey to our guests. Nice Hotel at the Coast line, close to Gallipoli. It has a privat beach and a large swimming pool. (you have to wear a swimming cap) Near to the swimming pool is a buffet counter for lunch which is moderate regarding quality. Clean room but standard. In general the price for the room was off in comparison with other accommodations we stayed during our trip to Puglia.

Dear Bob E, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The Hotel overlooks one of the most beautiful stretches of the Salento coast. The beach, of fine white sand and crystal clear water, is for the exclusive use of our guests.. The semi-Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, is 25 metres long, 12.5 m wide and its depth ranges from a minimum of 1.5 m to a maximum of 2.5 m. he use of the swimming cup is compulsory for compliance with the hygiene rules to which we are particularly attentive. The restaurant next to the swimming pool, the Fico d’India, is the perfect solution for all Guests who would prefer to have a quick lunch. We are sorry you consider the quality as moderate. We use fresh products often at zero kilometre. Definitely the choice it offers is different from that of the main restaurant but the idea is to offer guests on the beach and in the pool a faster and lighter lunch. The Comfort rooms are our entry level rooms. They are essential and they are meticulously described on our website. About the price, please note that the room rate includes the beach service, the use of the pool, the hot tub facing the sea, parking and wifi. We booked this Hotel at the last minute. On arrival we were really impressed with the interior and the magnificent view of the Ionian Sea .. the water so clear and blue. Our receptionist was one of the most helpful we have encountered speaking very good English. We found all the staff to be most helpful and friendly. We had booked the wellness package and made full use of the Lympha Spa facilities - on most occasions having it all to ourselves. The facilities had been recently refurbished and were excellent, The steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and all other facilities were spotlessly clean. The Hotel itself has a beachfront location with sun loungers, umbrellas and towels provided for Hotel guests. The pool and surrounding area was also spotless. The only downside of arriving in May - poolside bar and restaurant do not open until June.. so would recommend a car…

We had an ocean view suite, which was money well spent. Beautiful hotel, perfect location, couldn't be happier. Great service, everyone was truly interested in seeing us enjoy ourselves. Anyone who didn't enjoy it has a problem with their attitude, the hotel is great. Good dinner in the restaurant, good massages in the spa, great aperitivo in the afternoon...loved it.

We were very excited to visit this hotel with the great reviews but come arrival we were extremely disappointed. The room was outdated and the bathroom was NOT clean with rust and mold in the shower. The pillows felt like they were stuffed with paper. The only place for dinner was the large dining hall with no atmosphere and the food was not great. There is a large terrace that would have been a perfect place to eat but that was not possible. The view of the water was beautiful but once we got to the beach it was not very clean with cigarettes on the sand. The location is great but overall this hotel felt like it was trapped in the 80’s and needed a major revamp. It also feels like they just pack people in, especially on the beach and it did not feel comfortable or relaxing. This is not a 4 star hotel experience.…

We always learn a great deal from our guests’ experience and constructive criticism; the objective of our work is to make our guests’ holiday unique and memorable, so it is essential to us to know your positive, but most of all, your negative feedback, so that we can understand in which way we can improve our service. We are sorry that You didn’t love the style of the hotel; anyway, we take the liberty to disagree with your idea about the outdated room and the “hotel being trapped in the 80s”. As confirmed with your reservation, you had a Comfort Room, characterised by essential decoration in a Mediterranean style, clear and relaxing colours, as well as a nice lateral view on the sea; three milestones for those who want to get into contact with the magic of Salento; moreover, a part of the hotel was renewed four years ago, while a new, modern spa and a renewed swimming pool were inaugurated respectively last year and last June. This is just to prove You that we take care of our “home”, and nothing is left to chance. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience about the shower; we always put a lot of work into the maintenance and the cleaning of our rooms as well as the common areas of the hotel; we are sure that if you had prevented us about this problem during your stay, we would have intervened immediately to find a solution for You. As for the main restaurant, it is called “panoramic restaurant” because of its glass windows that give a stunning view on our beautiful Ionian Sea; the menu proposed to our guests varies every day and presents high quality dishes with local foods and fish reflecting the tradition of the region. These two elements have always been appreciated from our long-time guests as well as our new ones. Anyway, we really appreciate your advice about the terrace, which is already a highlight of our hotel with its aperitifs at the sunset, and we will do our best, in the next future, to maximize its potential and offer amazing dinners “with a view”. We absolutely agree with you about the beauty of the beach that we always try to keep clean and in order for our guests; indeed, as you might have noticed, there are only four rows of sunshades, each corresponding to a room number, with 4sqm of place between one sunshade and the other and 4sqm of place between one row and the other. The hotel is very clean and nice but the most amazing thing is its location. I've never seen another hotel like this in Salento. Also compared to neighboring hotels, its beach is a notch above. If you want to wake up on a dreamlike beach, go to Costa Brada.

The hotel is overrated. We've booked there because of the private beach and the good score. When we went on the beach, we chosed a place in front of the sea (they were all empty) and imediatley a staff member came and told us we have to seat somewhere else because the first row is reserved to the external guests. How is this possible if we are guest at the hotel?! not to mention that we were only a fiew people on the entire beach. I foud that very insulting to be told to get up and move somewhere else. The room was average (to be kind) and the toilet seat was broken. I didn't like the experience and I will not come back again.

We are very sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy our beach here as much as expected. As you just wrote, having a private beach and being located just a few meters from the sea shores is on of the elements that attract our guests the most. This helps to enhance our “good scores”, together with the well refined rooms, the new swimming pool, the recently inaugurated Lympha Spa, the good food from our restaurants, but most of all the efforts that we, as a staff, put together in order to make our guets feel pampered as if they were at home. Among these, of course, also our colleagues from the bathing establishment, who work hard every day to make our guests feel at ease while enjoying our crystal clear sea in Gallipoli. As communicated by Alessandro, the lifeguard she was confronted with, being new to the team, did not speak correctly in English, and there was a misunderstanding and that there shouldn't have been. As for the organization of umbrellas, we can assure you that all priorities are given exclusively to hotel guests and we do not accept Guests who are not staying at the Grand Hotel Costa Brada. What changes for the row, well explained on our website, on the booking portals and on the booking confirmation received via email, is that the umbrellas in the front row are assigned to the higher room categories such as Suite, Junior Suite and Deluxe, while the Comfort room, like the one you reserved, umbrellas are provided starting from the second row backwards. If we hadn't had all the superior category rooms we would have offered them, as we usually offer, an umbrella in the front row. All our rooms offer a wide range of services, along with light colored furniture and breathtaking views: they are kept clean and efficient thanks to the cleaning and maintenance team who constantly check them to prevent any kind of problem. We are really sorry that you have had some problems with the bathroom in the room and the beach; however, we can assure you that if you notified us of these issues in a timely manner, instead of posting a review while you were still at the hotel, we would do our best to offer you a solution and save your vacation. Even if you are not willing to come and visit us again, we still hope you will change your mind, so that we can show you that you can keep fond memories of our hotel and our team.
