Right in the heart of beautiful medieval Figeac , a friendly and welcoming small hotel. Room spacious and comfortable, clean with good bathroom. We stayed at the top to avoid late night noise and had a peaceful night. Good air conditioning, essential in summer. Breakfast at the cafe bar, served with a smile. Step out the door and the ancient town is in front of you, no need to get in the car(parking nearby). I can’t recommend highly enough.
Just for the café - this lady who serves at the bar area does not have an inch of customer service at all. When we entered the café, she looked at us annoyingly & having to ask her which tea variety do they have, she gives us that dismal look on her face that says "I do not care what you want." Otherwise, the ambiance was great, café & tea were great. I really hope you consider changing that lady behind the bar since she's not happy to work there either.
Delightful café next door to restaurant Le Seth and opposite the museum. Wood burner when not too warm outside and plenty of tables outside when the sun is shining. Very comfortable inside with lots of newspapers (not just local ones) and good coffee at a fair price (€1,30) for such a location.
We called in figeac to catch up with friends on our way back from Portugal in our motorhome. It was a cold weekend but I had to go to Champollion cafe for old times sake. We sat outside as we had our dog with us but it really was cold, the lady who owns the cafe invited us in to get warm and the dog was made very welcome too. We spent a good few hours catching up and drinking great wine. Thank you for a brilliant day. We parked our motorhome on the car park near the football field where you can stay overnight. We will be back soon.
Excellent room service cafe and location. Right in the heart of Figeac and its atmosphere what a great place to stay our 4 night was not long enough... Free parking a short walk away but you can drop off and pick up right outside the hotel if you don't mind a short drive down narrow streets
medieval house with top modern comfort, ideally located, simple the hotel that goes with the bar/restaurant (a few typical customers...) : simple furniture, very clean, calm, excellent breakfast, smiling service not accessible with car...
I fancy myself as a connoisseur of French 2-star hotels and this one is a gem. My criteria of character, cleanliness, friendly but not overbearing staff all met. Plus the cafe is on Place Champillion which is an excellent place to sit and enjoy life.
Seriously old town with scarily narrow streets. We were driving and even with our GPS it was a little fiddly and we had to park illegally whilst I went in to the hotel. The patroness explained where we should go for free parking and suggested we bring our bags in first so we would not have to carry them down from the car park. She kindly carried them up to our room on the top floor with a view over the square. We found the parking area in the church at the top of the hill without any trouble. A plain and simple room but quite adequate for our needs and the view from the window over the square was sublime. Wifi included in the price and reception very good. Figeac is seriously noisy in the morning with street sweeping machines, so we woke early. Had a coffee at the cafe downstairs before setting off.…
We found the square very easily and this was the place to be on a nice day. The cafe was hopping with locals and we enjoyed the vibe. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. All was good and it offered good value. Easy to recommend.
This is an ideal place to stay, if you want a central location in a lively area. We booked in for a Sunday night and were delighted to experience a bustling square in the centre of the Old Town. We were greeted by friendly staff who attended to all our needs including recommendations for dinner. The accommodation is located behind and above the cafe/ restaurant . The rooms are accessed by a wooden spiralled stare case. Help was offered to carry cases to the rooms but we did not find it necessary. The rooms were simply furnished with low divan beds and beautifully clean. The rooms at the back were quiet and cool. The ones at the front overlooking the square would be more ' atmospheric ' and perhaps affected by the square. But that would not bother us ! Dinner was arranged at Pont D'Or on the river terrace and was delightful. We had an excellent value breakfast in the square which rounded off a delightful stay. I would recommend the Hotel Champillion to anybody who wants to experience the atmosphere of Old Figeac but be aware of the climb to the rooms . Free parking is available 250 meters away near the school…
