We were fortunate to spend 4 nights at the Enzianhof in early October. Our room was spacious, nicely furnished and had a large bathroom with a great shower. The large window and balcony gave us a stunning view over the valley. We registered for "Halbpension", so we had breakfast (a large buffet) and dinner (always a choice of 3 entrees) each day. The food was excellent --- better than a hotel where we had recently stayed and that charged twice as much. We also spent some time in the "Felsenkeller" tasting cheese, wurst, and schnapps -- and of course, bought some of each. Everyone there was very helpful and friendly. The buildings were all newly renovated, but they kept the Tirolean atmosphere --- lots of wood, pretty curtains, a " gemuetlich" feeling throughout.
Most of the other guests spoke German and it was certainly helpful to speak some German, but not necessary.
Compared to other places where we stayed on our two week trip...

My group of 4 guys on a Motorcycle tour stayed here recently (June '12) for a one night stopover at the end of a tour around the Salzburg region, the idea was a comfortable relaxing stay before making our way back to the UK.

Enzianhof really filled the bill in all resects, spotless rooms, balconies with a stunning view of 4 mountains, spacious well appointed bathrooms, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere, oh and the food was excellent too.

Point to consider, the Enzianhof is half way up the Gelosberg mountain, it's the only game in town so come prepared to chill and more importantly to eat in, however the menu is good and the specialities authentic, we were served by 'Albie' who seems as though 'he grew there' he was helpful, imformative and had a great sense on humour a definate asset to the establishment.

Parking is easy I would suggest a vehicle is essential to get to and from the Enzianhof.

The Gasthof is part of a working farm and seems...
