This place is pretty good for the price. It is located in the heart of Dumaguette within walking distance of shopping areas and restaurants. They have a pretty Hot shower which is key for me being from America. And it looks like this is one of the main places that locals stay prior to their wedding. While the restaurant has...

The positive attributes first: 1. Centrally located in downtown Dumaguete 2. Van service available 3. Staff are polite and courteous and try their best Why I would not return: 1. The rooms are totally deplorable. My room lacked cleaning, the bedsheets didn't inspire rest. 2. There is no experience that the hotel is looking to create for you. 3. Coffee...

A pleasant stay in a very friendly city. If you're looking for clean, safe, friendly places to visit in the Philippines I do recommend Dumaguete, and the hotel essencia is as good a place as any to stay. A 5 minute walk to the boulevard where everyone goes. Plenty of eateries and local company if that's your thing. I'll definitely...

We found out, after landing at the airport, that there are no taxis allowed in there. So you either get a hotel transfer, a tricycle, or a friend to meet you. The airport tourist information desk contacted the hotel and a vehicle arrived soon after to get us. There is no charge for the pick-up but it costs 150 pesos...

We booked this hotel based on the good reviews in Trip Advisor and its proximity to city center. However all our 5 days of stay are very stressful since we have to endure the noice coming from their events place on the 9th floor. Every night they have either a wedding, birthday, anniversary, convention, or what have you events going...

There was an event in the 9th floor. The sound was extremely loud. They have no respect for the hotel guests. I called the attention of the manager but it seems he cannot do anything about it. Extra income but in expense of the hotel guests.

A decent hotel although It seems a little dated. The service great, very friendly staff and good breakfast. The water pressure is good and the television is clear. The room was pleasant with no odors. The Internet was good but I just barely had a WiFi signal in my room. If you are coming for a short stay and want...

Hotel Essencia is too far from being essentially Filipino or Philippine. From the hotel's architectural design to the interiors, the decors, the food -- almost everything is Western copycat as if there is nothing about Negros Oriental's culture and its arts that is worth incorporating in its design and ambience! The room assigned to me is the worst. It's spacious...

Nice, newer hotel with clean, spacious rooms. The first room we stayed in had a musty odor, but the staff changed us to a another room promptly. Friendly, accommodating staff. The only real issue we had was with the internet speed and reliability, but this is often the case throughout the Philippines. Hopefully this will improve in the future. Overall...
