Devnadi, the modern day "Sagar Ganga Resort," is a tranquil retreat with 12 rooms and a Private Ghat by the Ganga River in Haridwar. It used to be the Queen of Nepal's holiday home and then went on to be taken over by Padam Shri Ramanand Sagar ji where he wrote the scripts of his Legendary TV serial "Ramayan" and "Jai Shri Gange". The hotel has one of the biggest Private Ghat in Haridwar and a Shiva Temple on it. The interiors to the wall paints have been well thought through and take you back to the ancient times. Devnadi is not about luxury, it’s about a ride to heritage and history draped in comfort. "Devnadi" was originally built almost 150 years ago. The boutique hotel is a perfect amalgamation of yesterday and today. The interiors to the wall paints have been well thought through and take you back to the ancient times. The brass fixtures, lamps and lighting of each rooms in the property pulls you to yesterday and the Jaipur pinks and royal shades give you a stunning walk around heritage each day, every day!

Stayed in this hotel in October 2023. Actually this can't be called a hotel but an upmarket heritage villa Stay.
Location: Just on banks of Gangaji with Private Ghat. This is near Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple ( must visit this Temple just at 5 minutes walking). Very quiet place away from the hustle of Har Ki Paudi but also very easily accessible from all of Hardwar. Has a parkjng arrangement but it's in a common area with other hotels.
Rooms: MAINLY 3 categories of rooms, Ganga View high-end suites, Ganga View delux, Non View. Try to take Rooms in the floor of entrance, or above, if you are taking a Ganga View Room so that you get a proper View of Gangaji. Rooms are well equipped but don't expect a 5 star standard. Has all modern amenities of a 2++/3 star property. All View Rooms have a connect ed balcony which is almost like private, with great views of Gangaji and that too the surrounding area on both sides is very quiet, calm & very clean. The place overall will give you a feel of staying in a heritage Makan with private Ghat & Courtyards with modern amenities. This villa Has been used for shooting of many hindi films/documentaries.
Ghat/Aarti: This villa is a old but restored villa with absolutely private Ghat. Very well maintained clean private Ghat with private Temple with no crowd around. GHAT is Connected with lift from each floor for convincence of elderly devotees. You can take very safe dip in the sacred waters from this well guarded private Ghat. Ganga Aarti & morning prayers are organised by the management every day where you can take feel bliss of devotion in clean, private milieu.
Food: Purely vegetarian restaurant serves very delicious food. From breakfast till dinner there are endless options even including continental & modern day fast grabs.
Accessiblity: A short drive/a windy auto rickshaw ride will take you to Har Ki Paudi in 5-7 mins. Highway accessible in 2 mins.
Overall: Highly recommend for families looking for a clean , calm devotional experience.

Nestled along the serene banks of the sacred Ganges River in Haridwar lies a cherished heritage property boasting 10-12 inviting rooms. Located on Niranjan Akhra Marg, this tranquil retreat offers a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of the region. While the property's charm is undeniable, it's worth noting that parking for personal vehicles can be a tad inconvenient. However, a convenient communal parking area just 100 meters away provides a solution, albeit at a nominal charge. Despite this minor inconvenience, the hotel excels in every other aspect. The dedicated staff are not only attentive but also go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Guests are also treated to the soul-stirring experience of morning and evening Ganga aarti ceremonies conducted by the resident pandit in the quaint temple onsite. Accommodation spans three floors, with rooms offering captivating views of either the majestic river or the bustling streets below. Those situated on the reception floor and above afford particularly enchanting vistas of the Ganges and its picturesque environs. For the convenience of guests, a lift is available, ensuring easy access to the hotel's private ghat for a rejuvenating dip in the holy waters. Culinary delights await at the hotel's esteemed restaurant, "Saatvik," where delectable vegetarian fare tantalizes the taste buds. Exploring the spiritual heart of Haridwar is effortless, with Har Ki Pauri a mere 2 kilometers away. For those preferring a leisurely stroll, meandering through the quaint bylanes of Haridwar presents a charming alternative, while readily available auto-rickshaws offer convenient transportation options just outside the hotel's doorstep. The return gift of holy ganga water in a beautiful pot during check out is icing on the cake.

This heritage hotel is located near Ganga barely 3 km downstream from Har ki Pauri. The rooms are decent, and the food is pretty good. The hotel has its own private ghat which one can use if one wants a dip in the holy river and avoid the crowd of Har ki Pauri. . There is a paid parking nearby , which makes it easier if you have a chauffeur driven car or if you are driving on your own. In room amenities can be improved , though it is not a major consideration if you are selecting this hotel.
The hotel is conveniently located, and time spent on the ghat early mornings and during evening is quite relaxing and peaceful.
For anything that you require, Ms Ekta at the front desk can be helpful.
TIP: Choose a Ganga view room .

The booking process was good, Ekta was really helpful and kind enough to get us a discount. I visit Haridwar frequently and this hotel has become my go to in the last 5 years because of the easy Ganga ghat access, the amazing home cooked food and the hospitality of the staff. The only thing I feel needs some work is the cleanliness due to some spider webs but nothing that can’t be fixed. I also feel the pricing has gone up a lot over the last few years and that should be worked upon because without a discount I would not book this hotel for INR 10,000 or more.

We booked two days in this boutique hotel and the staff made sure to make our each moment we spent very special. From the security guard to the room attendant and the waiter, everyone had a constant smile and were well-mannered . The hotel is situated on the banks of the holy Ganges river, with serene and mesmerising views from the balcony. The in-house restaurant serves delectable dishes (vegetarian only). The room was spacious and had every amenity that were required. The washrooms were clean and well-maintained, and the cleaning staff were always ready to help. This boutique hotel has a vintage ambiance which makes the visitor fall deeply in love with. The accessibility road is quite narrow, however, since it is near a busy marketplace. It does not have it's own designated car parking area but there is one municipal parking few meters away.
If you'd like to enjoy a tranquil, pleasant and restful stay at Haridwar, we would highly recommend this place!

Room Illumination too poor. Hot water source are too less after 1 Bucket of hot water we need to wait 30 min for another 1 bucket of hot water. Comparing the price of ghat room services are very poor & Electricity are going frequently after using air heater. Not recommend only considering room view.
Go for other hotel instead of Devnadi. Too costly Poor services Poor Bathroom accessories Poor Electrical management

After going through the reviews on TA I decided to book this place. I had very high expectations, but I will tell you this property met my expectations and we all liked the place very much
The rooms are having the old age vibes. The interiors are beautiful and maintained to a certain extent. They have private ghat called Madan Mohan ghat where the guests can take a dip in the holy Ganges and perform Ganga Aarti. This is the best part of staying at this hotel.
Ms. Ekta assisted me with the booking and Ms. Pooja was there at the time of check in. Both were good. Mr. Tushar helped us with guiding us to the room and also gave the information about the Ganga aarti and the local markets etc. He was very good.
Hotel has a in-house restaurant named Sattvik which serves tasty food. People in the restaurant are good and hospitable. Mr. Mahaveer helped us with customising our food as per our requirement.
The only drawback I found with hotel was the parking. There is no place to park the vehicle in the front of the hotel. So if you have old parents and a lot of luggage with you then be a little careful as the parking is a little far away from the property. But yes; the hotel bell boys will help you with the luggage.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay on the ghat and enjoy Ganges. This is really a good place with a rustic feel. I loved it!!
Keep up the good work Team Devnadi. All the best guys

This hotel was booked by our travel agents who for some unknown reason bought us to the hotel at around 10.30am without communicating that our arrival time to the hotel would be way before check in time. The staff went above & beyond in making us feel welcome, securing our baggage, bringing us coffee & showing us the amazing view of the Ganges from the terrace.
Sadly Haridwar didn't seem like the safest place for 2 female foreign tourists to wander & explore alone, the hotel very kindly arranged for one of the night staff to come in & show us around the temples/cable cars etc. that we had planned.
We we arrived back from our mini tour our room was ready & what a pleasant surprise to be upgraded to a beautiful suite, we made the most of the room by snuggling in our duvets (it was blooming cold) and having a Netflix & chill afternoon with chai masala bought to the room. We caught the end of the on site Arti (Ganges ceremony) and headed downstairs for a very nice, freshly cooked, decently priced meal.
Pls be aware that if you are traveling Dec/Jan the hotel is cold but the staff had extra heaters bough to the room, although we were chilly throughout our meal. But guess we are just wimps.
Thank you Devnadi hotel for looking after us so well.

This hotel cannot be fitted into star category, as this is beyond, still have very well maintained it’s heritage. Well maintained, very spacious with best view rooms, bigger balconies, you can sit and watch Ganga flowing through your room with beautiful sunrise. Personal ghat access to Ganga gives you personalised bath experience, moreover whenever you enter the ganga the things people throw in the river is always disturbing when you bath, here it wasn’t seen, so was having a amazing experience. Staff is also very polite and co-operative, also the food was very tasty and customized to our needs. They are keen to upgrade the room category based on availability to add morel fun to our stay. Best recommended hotel!

While I was planning my single day stay at Haridwar, I was looking for a certain set of things, most important being proximity to Har ki paudi, Devnadi ticked all the boxes!
Right from the start when I had called for booking, Mr. Mahavir, not only offered me the room but even provided a discount for the same. He was very helpful throughout out my stay along with the other staff at the property! The checkin process was smooth and the room was very clean and had all the facilities required. Since I had booked late, I didn't get a ganga facing room, hopefully next time!
The best part about the property is it's private ghat where you can dip in ganga ji any time of the day. The food at the restaurant Sattvik is delicious, waiting time is slightly longer which I feel can be improved!
E-rickshaws are easily available from the property itself which can take you to har ki paudi. The hotel has it's own mandir at the ghat where you can attend and even perform the morning aarti. All and all it was a comfortable stay and I would love to return to this property along with my family the next time.
P. S: Early morning you will be hear Hanuman Chalisa being played in the hotel and during late evenings, a soulful music is played in the background while you enjoy the mesmerizing ganga ji at its private ghat.
