Mvuvi Resort is an elite boutique hotel on the east coast of Zanzibar. It is located on the white beach of Kiwengwa, overlooking the Indian Ocean; from there you can admire the crystal and clear waters of the reef. It can be defined as an intimate location, genuine and elegant at the same time, in a state of perfect harmony with the Swahili culture and traditions. A place where you can sunbathing on a peaceful private beach enjoying the real beauty of the nature or doing sports. There is something to suit all tastes, such as kite surfing, diving, and many others. It is also the ideal starting point for different kinds of excursions to Zanzibar or exciting safari in Tanzania. The building consists of six large rooms with all amenities and comfort, it is specializes in a highlevel hospitality. It represents the ideal destination for young couples (for instance, on their honeymoon), but for families with children and groups of friends also. Mvuvi Resort is not the typical mass tourist resort, it is something more: it’s a quiet and exclusive place, which has a saltwater pool and a private spa in its green garden. In the end, you can even admire and enjoy a lovely meal in the restaurant with a nice terrace that overlooks the Ocean; it seems a perfect spot for romantic dinners and hearty breakfasts. A fusion cuisine, in which Mediterranean flavours are mixed with the colours and aromas of local products and goods, starting from fish to tropical fruits. An unspoiled place to spend carefree days of vacation in Zanzibar in a real African atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi access in all the Resort

We stayed at Mvuvi Resort for the second leg of our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. The special thing about this resort is its size (only 8 rooms) and the space that comes with this - the private beach was stunning and there never seemed to be many other guests around so there was always lots of space. The staff were lovely, and we really appreciated them staying up until 3.30am to meet us as our flight arrived very late. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The book of activities in each room was a nice touch and listed a number of tours, such as going to Stone Town or going out on a boat to the reef. The hotel could arrange these tours and just charge the fee to the room. As already mentioned the staff were really helpful with special mention to Grace and Neema who helped us make our stay very comfortable. The resort has three places to have lunch and dinner, which is amazing given the small number of rooms. The beach lounge was a three minute walk along the beach and was a great spot for lunch. Overall the food was good with a blend of italian and local dishes (lots of delicious seafood).

My daughter and I visited Zanzibar for the first time and we stayed at Mvuvi Boutique Resort. I chose it because it was affordable and had great reviews. We absolutely loved it!! Grace is amazing! She welcomed us and planned and adapted the excursions to what we wanted to do. We paid for half board and it worked out perfectly. For breakfast each morning there was a different fresh fruit juice - the passion fruit was my favorite. For our evening meals, Pumpkin Ginger soup, Steak Frites, Avocado Salad and Passion Fruit cheesecake we’re some of our favorites. Oh and the masala tea! There are chairs on the beach to relax in and drinks and food are available to order there. Mvuvi has a guard at their beach area so we’re protected from the hawkers. We booked massages and they were wonderful. My only complaint is we weren’t there long enough!

I am absolutely in love with Mvuvi Resort. The property is a secluded, beachside paradise with beautiful greenery and freshly combed white sand everywhere. I loved the small, intimate feel of the resort and the property was extremely clean and well maintained. The service from the staff, dining service, room service, and massage personnel were all outstanding. Mvuvi was also helpful in organizing all of our activities (Stonetown tour, snorkeling/diving, Kuza Caves, Jozani Forest, etc).

In this beautiful boutique hotel in Kiwengwa we felt very cared for. Everything is done to accommodate the needs of the client. The staff are all very nice and always attentive to optimize your stay, without intruding your privacy. Everywhere you look, there is beautiful scenery and details around the hotel with many flowers. The breakfast and dinner take place in a restaurant overlooking the sea and the food is bursting with flavour. Close to the hotel, there is the accompanying “beach lounge” where you can eat, relax on the beach chairs, and also make use of the wonderful watersports center. My daughter did stand up paddling for sunrise and she loved it! I would highly recommend to wake up early to watch the sun rising over the sea. If you are looking for a unique, relaxing and beautiful hotel to spend your holiday in Zanzibar, the Mvuvi hotel is the place to be.

One feels very special at this wonderful boutique hotel on the dreamiest of location. The owners and staff are wonderful and helpful. The food is amazing and the dining area - literally above the beach - makes one want to linger at the candlelit table and stare at the stars endlessly while soothed by the gentle sound of waves. And if into water activities as I was, the attached aquatic centre will ensure you can burn some of those calories gladly indulged (octopus in coconut sauce being my favorite). Just go…

Mvuvi resort is absolutely beautiful! It's location is excellent being situated right on Kiwengwa beach which is stunning. The resort itself is very small with a handful of rooms which is great, making peaceful and calm and the perfect place to relax. I would definitely return to Mvuvi and highly recommend!

The resort is unbelievable. Well maintained, clean, classy but understated. The restaurants are great, top notch quality food finely prepared and the staff all makes you feel at home. It was our home for 6 days and we did not want to leave. The whole team made feel us like family and this is priceless.

We spent three nights at Mvuvi following an eight day safari and could not have made a better slection. Small, quaint and initimate beachfront resort. The room was well equipped, yet minimalist. You only go there to sleep. The menu was comprehensive and very appetising. Grace and her team looked after us exceptionally well.

First of all, the staff (Meshak, Grace, Victoria, Farida, Stella, Stella, Elisabeth, Erith, Afi, and many more I didn't get the names from) was incredible. Carolina who is running the place was amazing prior to coming with baby crib and communication overall. Everyone was so nice and helped a lot by playing with our one year-old rascal who didn't want to be still during meals. They were also always smiling and ready to be of assistance. The resort and facilities is one of the most beautiful i've ever seen. Every detail is well thought out and all is pleasing to the eyes. I loved sitting at breakfast looking out at the beach and the sea. The room was really nice as well and got cleaned everyday. It was also big and had a lot of storage space for bags and a big wardrobe. The pool is beautiful and felt quite private because it was in a secluded part of the resort. There was also a lot of sunbeds by the beach and it was never crowded. Maybe because there weren't many guests at the time but still it would have been airy even if there were more people. The surrounding area is calm and there are a few restaurants up on the main road and on the beach. I have definitely more good things to say than bad and overall most things are truly great! Mainly if you don't have to run after a child all the time which sadly put a small stamp for us on the whole stay. Okay so most things are really great but I will try and find stuff to improve. The food was a bit uneven in quality. Some days it was really tasty but some days less tasty. Sometimes the dishes were bigger and sometimes smaller. Also, the vegetarian dishes were not really worth the money if you compared it to the meat or fish. For example: An avocado salad (although tasty) should not be a main dish when compared to a fish curry or seared beef. Overall the vegetarian food could be better and could have more options. The communication could also be better between waiters and kitchen. Often dishes were finished but you always found out quite late and at one time a part of a dish was missing because the ingredient was finished and made the dish incomplete and not very tasty. If I had known I would have chosen another dish. Maybe have a staff meeting before meals to see what meals are finished so the guests knows what's available from start. There was also, what I thought to be, an overflow of staff. Probably because of low season but there was always a lot of staff for only us alone and sometimes you had like three waiters during one meal and often it felt like many waiters was standing around waiting for finished plates. Of course I understand that there wasn't much to do at this time but less people in one place would have been more relaxing. If you wanna swim in the sea you have to watch the tide because the sea is often far out. "The beach boys" are a freaking menace and made us wanna avoid the beach altogether. This is not Mvuvi BR's fault but it's this beach you use. It's probably the same on all beaches though but for us a private beach would unfortunately have been preferred. Although I ended with improvements Mvuvi Boutique resort is a great place to stay and we are so thankful to have been here and met all the wonderful people! Thank you all!

We stayed for 5 nights in this hotel. It was our first time in Zanzibar but I sure hope it is not our last. The hotel is small with eight rooms. The rooms are basic but tastefully decorated. Very clean and comfortable. No issues with mosquitoes or bugs. Food was delectable. Staff is great, they are very polite, very helpful but they are not hovering over all the time. They really have achieved that perfect balance of being attentive in a subtle way. The rest of the premises are also beautiful. Every corner is kept clean and orderly. You can feel the attention to detail. This place, its staff and managers made me feel special. Worth every penny!! Thank you Mvuvi Team for such a memorable stay.
